摘要： Limited physical access to target organs of patients inside an MRI scanner is a major obstruction to real-time MRI-guided interventions. Traditional teleoperation technologies are incompatible with the MRI environment and although several solutions have been explored, a versatile system that provides high-fidelity haptic feedback and access deep inside the bore remains a challenge. A passive and nearly frictionless MRI-compatible hydraulic teleoperator is provided designed for in-bore biopsies. A needle driver translates a needle in insertion and retraction directions via a clutch mechanism. A needle holder grips the needle via a retraction lock when the clutch mechanism of the needle driver releases the needle to hold a position of the needle during reposition of the needle driver.

摘要： A system for producing a graft device for a patient may comprise: an imaging device configured to produce image data of a tubular conduit; and a processing unit configured to receive the image data from the imaging device. The processing unit may comprise an algorithm configured to process the image data, and produce a construction signal based on the image data. A material delivery device may be configured to receive the construction signal from the processor, and deliver material to produce a 3D covering based on the construction signal. The graft device may comprise the 3D covering positioned about the tubular conduit. Graft devices and methods of producing graft devices may also be provided.

摘要： A closed-cycle thermal energy storage system includes a thermochemical reactor [400] containing a solid thermochemical material, a heat exchanger [402], a fan [406] for creating forced convection of an air/water mixture circulating around the closed cycle, an evaporator/condenser [408], and a pressure control system that includes a pressure sensor [422], a controller [424], and a pump [404]. The pressure control system actively controls the pressure of the air/water mixture to produce a desired temperature difference across the thermochemical reactor [400]. The adjustable pressure control system controls the pressure of the air/water mixture to a first pressure (e.g., between 10 mbar and 1 bar) during a hydration phase and a second pressure (e.g., between 1 bar and 10 bar) during a dehydration phase.

摘要： An insect culture maintenance system includes a sequence of open-ended cylindrical tubes [500, 502, 504, 506] joined pairwise alternately at their tops and bottoms using multiple dual-cap connectors. Each dual-capped connector has a channel from an inside of a first cap to an inside of a second cap. In use, connectors that cap the bottoms of the tubes [508, 512] are filled with insect food media [518, 520], while connectors that cap the tops of the tubes [510] are open. As a result of this design, adults pass from one tube to the next through the top dual-cap connectors, while larvae pass from one tube to the next through the bottom dual-cap connectors, resulting in propagation of subsequent generations of insects through the sequence of tubes.

摘要： A distributed sensor network for soft growing robots is provided. Sensor bands are distributed at discrete intervals along the length of the flexible tube, and the sensor bands each are wrapped circumferentially around the diameter of the flexible tube. Each sensor band has one or more sensors and one or more semi-rigid islands containing a self-contained microcontroller, and one or more communication lines to an aggregator microcontroller located at the base of the soft growing robot communicatively connecting signals from the sensor bands. A casing laminates the distributed sensor network. In one example the encasing has cavities or a tooth geometry to allow bending. The casing is flexible to not hinder the growth of the soft growing robot, yet protecting the distributed sensor network.
