摘要: A technique for enabling reduction of fuel consumption without greatly changing an engine structure and without impairing a feeling of operation of a vehicle as a motorcycle. An engine includes a crankshaft and a primary gear integrated with the crankshaft that is attached such that the power of the engine is transmitted to a wheel. A one-way clutch transmits the power from the crankshaft to the primary gear but does not transmit the power from the primary gear to the crankshaft. The one-way clutch is provided between the crankshaft and the primary gear with a regenerative brake motor being provided on the primary gear. The engine is non-swingable mounted on the vehicle body with a cylinder extending in a substantially horizontal direction and a crankshaft provided to be oriented in a vehicle width direction. An electric motor is located in front of and above the crankshaft of the engine.

摘要: In the hybrid vehicle driving device including an engine drive system transmitting a drive force of an engine to a transmission through a one-way clutch and transmitting a drive force after shifting by the transmission to a rear wheel and a motor drive system transmitting a drive force of a motor to the rear wheel, the drive force of the motor of the motor drive system is joined to a point upstream the transmission and downstream the one-way clutch in the engine drive system. The transmission includes a twin clutch capable of shifting between neighboring shift gears by alternately switching the connection state of a clutch on one side and a clutch on the other side, and is automatically shifted so as to produce an optional rotational speed and motor torque at which the electric power generation efficiency becomes high at the time of regeneration control of the motor.

摘要: To reduce the height of a crankcase by arranging a communicating passage in a proper position and to miniaturize an engine in a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine provided with an upper crankcase integrated with a cylinder block or provided separately from the cylinder block on the downside of the cylinder block and a lower crankcase connected to a lower part of the upper crankcase and provided with a communicating passage that communicates with internal spaces of plural crank chambers corresponding to plural cylinders. In the multi-cylinder internal combustion engine, a communicating hole that communicates with the communicating passage is provided on at least either side of the upper crankcase or the lower crankcase, and a cover forming the communicating passage is arranged with the cover covering the communicating hole and is attached to both crankcases across a joined plane of the upper crankcase and the lower crankcase.

摘要: A piston with transverse-rib through holes formed easily therein for reducing the cost of manufacturing. A piston includes a pair of mutually opposed longitudinal ribs individually formed with piston pin bosses interconnecting a pair of piston skirt portions on a back side of a piston head. A pair of transverse ribs interconnect the mutually opposed longitudinal ribs with the transverse ribs. The pair of transverse ribs are formed with transverse-rib through holes at places proximal to the back side of the piston head. A skirt opening is formed by cutting away a part of the piston skirt portion that is opposed to the transverse rib and faces the transverse-rib through hole.

摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a variable valve system wherein each cam opens and closes an intake valve and an exhaust valve via each rocker arm. A variable valve system of an internal combustion engine E includes rocker arms rocked by the action of valve driving force of cams with each lift quantity variable mechanism varying a maximum lift quantity of an intake valve and an exhaust valve. The lift quantity variable mechanism includes a lifter that is driven by the cam, and makes the valve driving force act on the rocker arm and a lifter holder that supports the lifter, and is driven by an electric motor and is rocked. The lifter is movably supported by the lifter holder. Maximum lift quantity is varied by varying a position in which the lifter abuts on the rocker arm according to a position in which the lifter holder is turned.

摘要: A variable valve operating mechanism of a four-stroke internal combustion engine includes a slide pin energized by a pin spring in a direction while oil pressure acting on the slide pin in the opposite direction through oil pressure supply passages. The slide pin moves by controlling the oil pressure causing a stem contact surface and a stem through hole to selectively face a valve stem. The mechanism also includes an oil discharge passage including a discharge port which is opened to allow oil acting the slide pin to be discharged when the valve lifter is pressed by a valve operating cam to move for opening the valve. The mechanism is capable of quickly moving the slide pin upon the release of oil pressure when the valve comes into a quiescent state. Therefore, the response of transitioning the variable valve from an operating state to the quiescent state is improved.

摘要: A crankshaft phase adjustment structure for performing work via a single window. A clutch and ACG are arranged on both right and left sides of a crankcase. On the side of the clutch of the crankshaft, a primary drive gear engaged with a primary driven gear of the clutch is fixed by a bolt. A window for performing work is open to a case cover in the vicinity of the bolt and is covered with a cap. The center line of the window for performing work is set off the axis of the bolt, the window for performing work is located in a position in which a head of the bolt and an alignment mark provided to the outside periphery of the side of the primary drive gear are simultaneously viewed. At the edge of the window for performing work a second alignment mark is provided.

摘要: A crankshaft support structure for an engine. An inner race forming a part of a main bearing is loosely fitted onto a bearing seat of a shaft. A direction of thrust is fixed by a flange of a timing sprocket which is press-fitted onto the shaft. The outer diameter R1 of the timing sprocket and the outer diameter R3 of the flange are respectively set so that they are smaller than the outer diameter R4 of the inner race. An outer race of the main bearing is press-fitted and fixed to the side of a left crankcase and a roller is integrated. When the shaft enters the inside of the roller, the timing sprocket and the flange pass through the inside of the roller, and the inner race is fitted to the roller. As a result, the inner diameter R2 of the inner race can be made smaller than the outer diameter R1 of the timing sprocket. Thus the main bearing supporting the crankshaft is miniaturized and lightened.
