A battery capable of reducing swelling is provided. A battery includes a cathode, an anode and an electrolyte. The anode includes a coating containing a SO3-containing compound, and the electrolyte contains an electrolyte salt having reduction power. Therefore, on the surface of the anode, the SO3-containing compound is preferentially reduced and decomposed to become a sulfur-containing compound. In the result, decomposition reaction of the electrolyte is prevented.

A coating containing at least one from the group consisting of oligomers having a polyene structure and derivatives thereof is provided on the surface of an anode active material layer. The anode active material layer contains a substance containing Si or Sn as an element as an anode active material. By the coating, oxidation of the anode active material layer is inhibited, and decomposition reaction of the electrolytic solution is inhibited.

The electrolytic solution contains 4-fluoro-1,3-dioxolane-2-one. Fluorine ion content in the electrolytic solution is preferably from 10 weight ppm to 3200 weight ppm. Thereby, chemical stability of the electrolytic solution is improved, and cycle characteristics are improved. The present invention is effective for the case using an anode active material containing Sn or Si as an element for an anode.
