Abstract:
An electronic circuit includes a driver for an LED light, having an isolated DC-DC converter having a first output at a higher voltage referred to a floating ground and a second output at a lower voltage than said first output and referred to a reference voltage. A DC-DC boost converter receives its input power from the second output of the isolated DC-DC converter and having its output coupled to the floating ground, whereby an output voltage to a LED light receives the sum of the voltages of the first output of the isolated DC-DC converter and the output of the DC-DC boost converter.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for identifying running vehicles in an area to be monitored using acoustic signature recognition. The apparatus includes an input sensor for capturing an acoustic waveform produced by a vehicle source, and a processing system. The waveform is digitized and divided into frames. Each frame is filtered into a plurality of gammatone filtered signals. At least one spectral feature vector is computed for each frame. The vectors are integrated across a plurality of frames to create a spectro-temporal representation of the vehicle waveform. In a training mode, values from the spectro-temporal representation are used as inputs to a Nonlinear Hebbian learning function to extract acoustic signatures and synaptic weights. In an active mode, the synaptic weights and acoustic signatures are used as patterns in a supervised associative network to identify whether a vehicle is present in the area to be monitored. In response to a vehicle being present, the class of vehicle is identified. Results may be provided to a central computer.

Abstract:
A padlock for luggage that can be operated by setting a combination or by inserting and turning a key is provided with an indicator that normally displays a first state when the lock being used in a normal way as a combination operated padlock, but which displays a second state if the padlock has been opened by utilizing a key.
Abstract:
A stator (1) includes a core member (10) having a central portion (12) with an even number of pole members (14-17) extending radially and outwardly from the central portion, a winding having a same even number of winding portions (20a-d) wound around the pole members respectively, and a drive circuit (50) having the winding connected thereto. A half of the winding portions is arranged in parallel with the other half of the winding portions. During working, the electric current passes the whole winding in alternate direction to establish alternate magnetic fields to drive a rotor of the motor to run.
Abstract:
Polymer compositions are described containing a poly(1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol terephthalate) polymer in combination with a white pigment and optionally one or more reinforcing fillers. In accordance with the present disclosure, the composition also contains one or more reactive viscosity stabilizers. In order to prevent against yellowing, the composition is free of various aromatic epoxy resins, such as novolac epoxy resins. The polymer composition has excellent reflectance properties making the composition well suited for producing reflectors for light sources, such as LED assemblies.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to a molded reflective structure for a light source, which may be a light-emitting diode (“LED”). The structure includes a reflector which defines a cavity therein. The cavity is surrounded by at least one reflective side wall, and has a greatest dimension of less than about 50 mm. The at least one reflective side wall further has an initial reflectance at 460 nm of greater than about 85% and an initial whiteness index of greater than about 80. The reflector is made from a thermoplastic polymer composition that contains a material such that the at least one reflective side wall absorbs light in the ultraviolet and violet region of the electromagnetic spectrum and re-emits light in the blue region.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for synchronous rectifier control are provided. A synchronous rectifier includes parasitic drain inductance and parasitic source inductance. Compensation inductance is introduced to offset the effects of parasitic inductance. Compensation inductance may be formed from the trace inductance on the semiconductor die. In certain semiconductor packages, the parasitic inductance may be substantially fixed such that the layout can be modified to generate fixed compensation inductance.
Abstract:
Locks for luggage, travelcases, briefcases and the like that can be operated by setting a combination or by using a key include an indicator to provide a signal in response to use of the key. The locks retain relatively movable components in latched engagement when locked, and permit relative movement of the components when unlocked. In some embodiments, the indicator provides a visual signal if an associated travelcase has been opened for inspection by unlocking the associated lock using a key; and, in some embodiments, the indicator can be reset upon entry of a proper combination.
