    Abstract: An auditory attitude indicator for aircraft that includes an audio source providing an audible signal, a′ stereo headset with a left side and a right side, an aircraft avionics system that provides at least aircraft pitch data and roll data to an audio processor unit. The audio processor unit includes at least one lookup table of coefficients corresponding to a plurality of possible aircraft pitch and roll orientations and at least two selectable multipoint finite impulse response filters. The first selectable multipoint finite impulse response filter having a first coefficient selected by the audio processing unit from the lookup table based upon the aircraft pitch data and roll data for varying the audible signal to the stereo headset left side. The second selectable multipoint impulse response filter for varying the audible signal to the stereo headset right side having a second coefficient selected by the audio processing unit from the lookup table based upon the aircraft pitch data and roll data.

    Abstract: A coupling device is provided with two flanges and a resilient annular member disposed between facing surfaces of the flanges. The resilient annular member is provided with a central opening through which a metallic spring is disposed to exert a resistive force against compression of the resilient annular member between the two flanges. The device is particularly well suited for use in a marine propulsion system because of the propulsive force exerted on the shaft system by the propeller. In one particularly preferred arrangement, each of the two flanges is provided with three holes, and the resilient annular member is provided with six holes. The two flanges are offset rotationally to place each of the holes of one flange in alignment with an interstitial space between the holes of the other flange.

    Abstract: A fuel supply system for a marine propulsion system having an electronically controlled fuel injection system eliminates the need for a vapor separator. The system pumps an excessive amount of fuel through a plumbed fuel supply loop and cools recirculated fuel to cool all the components in the plumbed fuel supply loop, i.e. a continuous duty, constant displacement fuel pump; a pressure regulator; and a water separating fuel filter. Recirculated fuel flows from the pressure regulator to the water separating fuel filter as does make-up fuel from a fuel tank. The fuel stream from the water separating fuel filter flows to the low-pressure side of the fuel pump, which pumps the fuel through the plumb fuel supply loop. A fuel injection portion of the fuel flows to the engine for combustion, while the remaining portion of the fuel is recirculated. The recirculated portion of the fuel is cooled, preferably using a water-cooled heat exchanger. The cooled, recirculated fuel passes through the pressure regulator and repeats recirculation to the water separating fuel filter.
