    摘要: A reflective array surface acoustic wave signal compressor or expander (RAC) has a piezoelectric substrate (LiNbO.sub.3) upon which is deposited an input transducer and an output transducer and etched therein a reflective grating. The RAC grating comprises reflective elements which includes a plurality of grooves having either uniform depths and lengths and preselected widths or uniform depths, lengths and widths for producing a flat pass band or a desired frequency characteristic. Yields are increased owing to the simplified fabrication process and costs decreased owing to batch fabrication made possible by the resulting simplified fabrication-process.

    摘要: A belt of flexible metal with a dielectric of good electrostatic charge retention properties bonded to it is guided over grounded metal rollers with the metallicized side in contact with the rollers. At an imaging station an electrostatic image is placed directly on the dielectric.As the belt moves past a toning station it is sprayed with an insulating fluid containing small particles of high dielectric constant, which thereby obtain an induced dipole moment, or particles with a permanent dipole moment may be used. These particles are suspended in an organic carrier which is chosen so as not to discharge the dielectric belt and to impart a negligible electrostatic charge to the particles.Then the developed image is moved past a station wherein a dielectric roller is used as a backup, and a sheet of plain paper is pressed between the belt and the roller to transfer the wet particles from the belt to the paper.Because the image charge is never neutralized or electrostatically degraded, the belt can be developed and used to print new images many times without having to replace the image charge.

    摘要: A method of modeling and enhancing the print quality of digital printing, including both electrophographic printing and photofinishing. Pixels are printed with a device such as a DMD, whose pixels provide a steep-sided intensity versus displacement curve of each light spot on the image plane. Holes placed in the pixel can be used to place a dip in the top of the curve, a feature especially useful for electrophotographic printing. The effect of this hole on the image plane can also be flattened, a feature than may be especially useful for photofinishing. The steep-sided intensity curve facilitates the ability to model and predict pixel size.

An edge of each transducer is fixed against a reaction block so that on excitation of the transducers, the transducers extend into the ink chamber ejecting a droplet. The ink chamber is formed in a relatively rigid material to increase the efficiency of utilization of the drive pulse.

    摘要: A process for preparing polymer electrets comprising the following steps:(a) providing a parylene film having one side affixed to a metal layer and grounding said metal layer;(b) charging the free side of the film with a direct current corona, the charge being of sufficient magnitude to convert the film to an electret;(c) providing p-xylylene monomer vapor in sufficient amount to coat the charged film; and(d) introducing the vapor from step (c) and the electret into a deposition zone, said zone being under vacuum and at a temperature at which the vapor will condense, whereby the electret is conformally coated with parylene.
