    Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide various techniques for monitoring electronic devices at various locations, and cloning behaviors of specific electronic devices across locations and times. Device monitor and control systems may be configured to detect changes in the operational settings of electronic devices at monitored locations, and to transmit control signals to control corresponding electronic devices at other locations. In some cases, separate device monitor and control systems may operate at different locations, where each system may monitor and control a set of local devices and communicate device status detection signals, control signals, and the like to other device monitor and control systems at other locations. In some examples, central device monitor and control systems may operate at network hubs, such as satellite base stations, cable head-ends, and/or central computer servers, to coordinate the device monitoring and cloning of device behaviors between multiple locations.

    Abstract: A media device may be configured for receiving data from one or more satellites. The media device may include one or more processors and one or more storage devices. A first tuner of a media device may tune to a first data stream that came from a first satellite transponder. A second tuner of the media device may tune to a second data stream that came from a second satellite transponder. The first data stream and the second data stream may be derived from source data based at least in part on a data distribution scheme. The data distribution scheme may include distributing at least portions of the source data with the first data stream and the second data stream. The first data stream and/or the second data stream may be processed to store and/or output for presentation content.

    Abstract: A method for presenting a matrix code may include receiving, at a content receiver, a signal carrying identifying data relating to a remotely accessible program, generating, at a content receiver, a matrix code from the identifying data relating to the remotely accessible program, transmitting the matrix code as part of a content presentation to a presentation device for display, and receiving the remotely accessible program in response to a user capture of the matrix code. A method for remotely controlling a set top box and a method for setting a recording time on a set top box are also described. A method of preparing a program guide may include gathering program information, generating matrix codes for each program including program data, and associating the matrix codes with respective programs.

    Abstract: Arrangements for preparing a television channel for presentation are presented. A tuner of a television receiver may tune to a first television channel and the first television channel may be output for presentation. One or more idle tuners of the television receiver may be identified. One or more television channels other than the first television channel may be selected for preparation. The one or more television channels may be selected prior to receiving user input selecting a television channel of the one or more television channels for presentation. Each of the one or more television channels may be prepared for presentation by tuning, by each tuner of the one or more idle tuners, to the one or more television channels prior to receiving the user input selecting the television channel of the one or more television channels for presentation.
