    摘要: Disclosed are glass materials generally belonging to the P2O5—ZnO—TeO2 system and process for making the same. The glass may comprise Bi2O3 as well. The high refractive index and low Tg materials are particularly suitable for refractive lens elements for use in portable optical devices. The process involves the use of P2O5 source materials with reduced amounts of reducing agents or a step of removing the reducing agents from such source materials by an oxidizing step such as calcination.

    摘要: The oxyhalide rare earth doped laser glass of the present invention comprises the substitution of fluorine for oxygen in glasses having the general molar batch composition of 50% SiO.sub.2, 25% CaO, 25% Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 to improve the distribution of rare earth dopants in the glass. The general molar batch composition of the invention ranges from approximately 45-70% SiO.sub.2, 15-35% CaO, 10-25% Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, 4-15% Al.sub.2 F.sub.6, and 0.001-2% Er.sub.2 O.sub.3. This substitution of fluorine into the 2SiO.sub.2. Al.sub.2 O.sub.3. CaO glass system provides erbium doped laser glasses having a Er.sub.2 O.sub.3 batch content of 0.01 mole % Er.sub.2 O.sub.3 to 1.2 mole % Er.sub.2 O.sub.3 (500 ppm Er.sub.2 O.sub.3 to 5.68 wt. % Er.sub.2 O.sub.3) which show little to no concentration quenching and exhibit useful fluorescence lifetimes of approximately 6 milliseconds (ms) or greater.

    摘要: The invention relates to a food product dispenser that includes a food delivery mechanism and a cleansing mechanism. The food delivery mechanism includes a food source, a food conduit associated with the food source for receiving a food component therefrom, and a dispensing mechanism configured to dispense servings of the food component from the conduit. The cleansing mechanism includes a cleansing conduit associated with the food delivery mechanism to direct a cleansing fluid along a fluid path in cleansing association with the food delivery mechanism under conditions for performing a cleansing operation on the food delivery mechanism. A controller can be provided for automatically conducting cleansing operations based on predetermined conditions. The controller, delivery mechanism and cleansing mechanism can be configured to switch between the dispensing of the servings and the cleansing operation at a plurality of intervals during a day without substantial intervention from an operator.
