    摘要: A compact and short tampon applicator is formed of an outer barrel which surrounds a tampon-holding inner tubular plunger which is slidable within the outer barrel. A portion of the wall of the plunger defines a pair of hinged panels which snap into the interior of the plunger in response to an inwardly directed radial force. This inward force is supplied by a tab on the barrel, once the plunger has been retracted sufficiently out of the barrel to register the hinged panels with the tab. The applicator is readied for use by retracting the plunger rearwardly behind the tampon, sufficiently to cause the hinged panels to engage the tab on the inner surface of the barrel to snap into the plunger. After insertion of the barrel into the catamenial canal, the plunger is pressed inward, back into the barrel, to enable its inwardly snapped panels to engage the rear of the tampon and to eject the tampon through the front of the barrel.

    摘要: A solved three-dimensional crystal structure of a glucocorticord receptor (GR) α ligand binding domain polypeptide is disclosed, in the form of a crystalline glucocorticord receptor α ligand binding domain polypeptide in complex with the ligand fluticasone propionate (FP) and a peptide derived from the co-activator TIF2. The GR/FP/TIF2 structure includes an expanded binding pocket not seen in other GR structures. Methods of designing steroid and non-steroid modulators of the biological activity of GR and other nuclear receptors (NRs) are also disclosed. In another aspect of the present invention homology models of androgen receptor (AR), progesterone receptor (PR) and mineralcorticoid receptor (MR) are disclosed, as well as methods of forming homology models for other NRs. Methods of forming a soluble GR/FP/TIF2 complex are also disclosed.

With such an arrangement, the victim data buffer can be deallocated when the victim valid bit and the probe valid bit have both been cleared.

    摘要: An endless woven garniture tape or belt for cigarette making machines comprising a combination of natural, chemically modified, and synthetic fibers in a unique blend and arrangement which possesses properties that result in superior wear life performance without sacrificing other performance criteria. The warp is made from combed sak cotton fiber threads, with a multiplicity of such threads mercerized and plied together to form each warp thread. The filling threads are made up of a multifilament synthetic core wrapped with cotton fiber with a multiplicity of such wrapped threads plied together to form each filling thread. Endless belts made according to this invention have a wear life approximating three times the normal wear life of conventional belts used on cigarette making machines.
