    摘要: A usage time correcting engine, and corresponding method, system, apparatus, and computer product are provided. Over a period of time that an LED lighting fixture is being used to provide light, a usage time correcting engine indirectly measures an internal temperature of a component of the fixture. The indirect measurement is based on a measured external temperature of the component and power output supplied to or provided by the component. The usage time correcting engine determines a multiplier as a function of the indirectly measured internal temperature. The usage time correcting engine multiplies the period of time by the multiplier to provide a corrected measurement of usage of the component. In some examples, the usage time correcting engine determines a remaining lifetime of the LED lighting fixture from the corrected measurement and then reports the remaining lifetime to a user by way of a log, flashing light or other notification/indication.

    摘要: A light emitting diode (LED) lighting unit including power supply housing accommodating a power supply and an LED array housing defining an internal compartment and a lens sealing the internal compartment. An LED array and an LED control circuit are mounted on a printed circuit board, which is accommodated within the compartment. The rear surface of the LED array housing includes a heat transfer element. At least one of the LED array and power supply housings has a chimney extending therethrough from a front to rear surface. The rear surface of the LED array housing is spaced from the front surface of the power supply housing to define and airflow space therebetween. During operation of the LED lighting unit, air flows into the airflow space and toward a central axis of the LED lighting unit before flowing out through the chimney to facilitate removing heat from the LED lighting unit.

    摘要: A system and process for controlling power delivered to an electrical load, such as lighting system, to controllably effect operation of the load (e.g., intensity of illumination). In at least some embodiments, the system and process interpret a user-adjustable setting of a typical electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer control device that is otherwise isolated from facility AC power. An electrical stimulus, such as a relatively low power AC or DC voltage, is applied at one or more externally accessible terminals of the ELV dimmer control. An electrical response of the dimmer control to the stimulus is measured at one or more externally accessible terminals of the dimmer control. The electrical response varies according to the applied electrical stimulus and a user-adjustable setting of the dimmer control. An indication of the setting of the user-adjustable control is determined from the measured electrical response, and used to correspondingly dim a lighting source.

A different respective LED array is mounted on at least one of a number of common printed circuit boards accommodated within the internal compartment. The different LED arrays provide different illumination, controlling one or more illumination features such as beamwidth, color and color temperature. Physical isolation is also provided between the LED array housing and the power supply housing to allow for controlled or otherwise restricted access to one or more of the different housings. In at least some embodiments, one or more of the LED array housing and power supply housing are configured with a centrally located chimney, drawing in cooling air from a space provided between the to housings to facilitate cooling of the lighting unit.
