摘要: A rollover prevention device and method detects an impending rollover situation for a vehicle (10) having a high center of gravity (cg). The system alerts the operator to potentially dangerous driving conditions and/or automatically slows the velocity of the vehicle (10) to prevent rollover. An electronic control unit for receives output signals from wheel velocity, engine revolution, and engine load sensors and then calculates lateral acceleration, wheel slip difference, and drive torque from the signals. A lateral acceleration limit is defined by plotting lateral acceleration, wheel slip difference and drive torque as a three dimensional surface.

In one embodiment, one of the steerable road wheels of the vehicle is braked, to cause force to be transmitted back to the vehicle steering wheel, resulting in the driver receiving tactile feedback through the steering wheel.

摘要: A system and method for detecting alternator condition is provided. Information is taken from the vehicle powerline and the communication links, and processed by the vehicle ECU, such as the vehicle antilocking brake system ECU, to obtain data. The battery voltage ripple amplitude is then calculated and compared at different engine speeds. If the difference in the ripple amplitude at the different engine speeds is greater than a predetermined threshold value, a signal is sent indicating that the alternator has failed.

A microcontroller receives and interprets a standard diagnostic message as a function of the signal received by the pin connector. A plurality of lights are controlled by the microcontroller as a function of the standard diagnostic message.

摘要: A rollover prevention system for a vehicle includes an antilock braking system and a plurality of wheel-end modulator valves associated with respective wheels. The antilock braking system includes an electronic control unit and a lateral acceleration estimator for determining a lateral acceleration of the vehicle. The wheel-end modulator valves cause respective braking pressures to be applied at the respective wheels as a function of the lateral acceleration of the vehicle and a level of frictional contact between the wheels and a driving surface.
