    摘要: A process for inactivating viruses in blood and blood products in which a phenothiazine dye is added to the blood or blood product, and then irradiated with light. The use of a very small concentration of phenothiazine dye avoids any substantial adverse effects on the blood or blood products. Inactivation of the virus is effected by irradiation of the blood or blood product. After irradiation, the dye can be separated from the blood or blood product by a dye adsorbing agent.

Every blood bag system of this kind is adapted to be combined with another blood bag system, which may comprise one or several bags (3, 5, 7, 9) and may likewise be handled as an independent unit, by interconnecting both systems.
