Abstract:
A drum-type shear for cutting high-speed strip, especially hot strip, includes a blade that is movable radially into and out of a rotating blade drum from which it is extendable into a strip-cutting position at a desired cutting time. In order to provide reliable and accurate cross-cutting of even broad and thick strips using nevertheless simple structural means, a linearly translatable push-pull rod that extends axially in the blade drum has wedge surfaces that abut with corresponding wedge surfaces of the blade or blade holder for extending and retracting the cutting blade. The push-pull rod rotates with the blade drum and is connected to a stationary linear drive via a thrust bearing for transmitting axial rod-translating forces to the push-pull rod as the rod rotates with the drum.

Device (10) and method for winding/unwinding rolled products (20). The device (10) is interposed between a rolling unit located upstream (102) and a rolling unit located downstream (105). The device (10) comprises a heating furnace (11) and a support structure (16) disposed outside the heating furnace (11). On the support structure (16), substantially in a diametrically opposite position, two winding/unwinding drums (18a, 18b) are assembled, positioned inside the furnace (11). The support structure (16) is selectively rotating to alternatively dispose a first of the two drums (18a or 18b) in its winding position or in its unwinding position of a reel (29). A second of the two drums (18b or 18a) consequently assuming the opposite unwinding or winding position.

An interior trim component 1 for a motor vehicle comprises a base 2 of a fibrous base material of approximately 80% wood fibers and approximately 20% synthetic resin fibers, which is compressed and consolidated by the action of pressure and heat into the desired shape. Padding and/or a fabric insert 5 may be placed over selected areas of the surface of the base 2 and a sheet 7 of plastic material is bonded over the whole of the visible side of the base 2, the parts of the plastic sheet 7 overlying the insert 5 having a continuous impressed separation so that they may be removed. The fibrous base material which is in the form of fibrous fleece mats of approximately 20 to 30 mm thickness is consolidated in a hot-pressing shaping tool at 4000 N/M.sup.2 and approximately 200.degree. C. to a final thickness approximately one tenth the initial thickness, but is consolidated to a lesser extent in selected surface areas 4 to produce a greater final thickness between one fifth and two fifths the initial thickness, so as to provide a cushioning effect.
Abstract:
A rolling stand with a bending and shifting device for rolling rolls with two lower blocks fixed to the housing and carrying a lower chock, two upper blocks connected to an upper chock, a shifting device for the upper roll connected to the upper chock via a sliding coupling, a shifting device for the lower working roll connected to the lower chock via a sliding coupling. The lower chock is coupled to the blocks via a sliding coupling which allows the chock to be moved in a vertical direction to generate a bending of the lower roll via actuators. The two upper blocks are vertically coupled with the housing to allow the upper roll to be bent. The shifting movement of the upper roll is achieved via a sliding coupling between the upper chock and the two upper blocks, and may be carried out under load when rolling operations occur.

Abstract:
An apparatus for the winding of striplike material, in particular steel strip, in each case on one of two spreadable winding mandrels which are arranged, overhung, horizontally and parallel to one another and which, driven in rotation independently of one another, are mounted, in a carrying structure rotatable about a common horizontal central axis, on a vertical carrying wall in the form of a circular disk. The carrying wall in the form of a circular disk is arranged coaxially at the end of a central carrying shaft mounted, at its end opposite the carrying wall, in a rotary bearing. The gears for the winding mandrels are arranged, on the side of the carrying wall which faces away from the winding mandrels, in selfsupporting cases with cover division, which are connected to the carrying wall and with the latter form the carrying structure and which are themselves connected supportingly to at least one carrier which is fastened, overhung, to the carrying wall, so as to be parallel to the carrying shaft, and which, between the gear case and the rotary bearing, carries the drive motors for the winding mandrels, said drive motors being arranged on brackets.
Abstract:
A device for winding strip-type material, especially steel strip, alternately on each of two expandable coiler drums arranged horizontally and parallel to one another, which are mounted in free-floating fashion in a carrying frame arranged in rotary-drivable fashion around a shared horizontal central axis and are themselves rotary-drivable independently of one another. The rotary drives for the coiler drums together with the carrying frame are attached to the frame in rotatable fashion. The drum-type carrying frame consists of two vertical circular-disk-type carrying walls which are separated from and parallel to one another. Longitudinal traverses connect the carrying walls together. On the longitudinal traverses are mounted the coiler drums, which penetrate one carrying wall, and their expanding drives. Flanged onto the outside of the other carrying wall are the simultaneously drivable rotary drives, which are connected to the coiler drums through universal joint shafts in geared fashion.
Abstract:
A layer of viscous material is applied to a substrate by constricting a stream of pressurized viscous material prior to entry into a chamber wherein the constricted filament-shaped stream is acted upon by radially inwardly and forwardly oriented currents of compressed air which reduce the thickness of the stream and issue with such stream from the chamber through an orifice. The orientation of air currents in the chamber is such that the filament is not imparted a swirling movement. The flow of air issuing from the chamber through the orifice forms a hollow cone which surrounds the filament of viscous material on its way toward contact with the substrate.
