摘要: An adjustable windshield for mounting on the front of a motorcycle, or the like, has a clamp late for locking the windshield in its adjusted position with respect to the motorcycle body. A releasable latching mechanism for operating the clamp plate is so disposed on the motorcycle body that it is accessible to the rider while seated astride the vehicle. Consequently, the windshield can be adjusted and locked in its adjusted position by the rider while astride the vehicle.

摘要: A manually operated gear shift mechanism for a motorcycle, or the like, includes a cable-driven pulley system operative to move a clutch to alternate operative positions in a power transmission system. The cables are arranged such that one is in tension regardless of the direction of rotation of the pulleys. The handle for operating the pulleys carries a releasable locking mechanism operative to secure the pulleys and, concomitantly, the clutch in their respective operative positions.

The ducting structure comprises a duct (20a; 208, 208r, 205a, 205c; 321, 314; 361, 365; 404, 405, 409) having a heated air entry (20b; 208c; 322; 362; 407) which, facing a rear portion (2b; 302g) of the engine, takes in heated air that has cooled the engine, and a heated air exit (20c; 205f; 328; 365b; 409b) which opens in the rearward direction of the vehicle.

A rear wall extends downwardly from immediately behind the cylinder blocks to direct the hot air around the exhaust pipes at the engine downwardly and rearwardly.

摘要: A throttle control apparatus for an internal combustion engine for a motor cycle, comprising a manually operated rotatable throttle actuating grip member, a first linkage cable for providing driving connection selectively in one of two opposite directions from the grip member to the engine throttle valve, a control circuit for producing a control signal when actuated, drive means responsive to the control signal for producing a driving force in one direction, a throttle regulator unit for providing driving connection from the drive means to the throttle valve, and a second linkage cable for transmitting the driving force to the throttle regulator unit. One of the first and second linkage cables is operative to produce a mechanical stress such as typically a lengthwise compressive force therein with the throttle actuating grip member manually operated to provide driving connection to the throttle valve in one of the aforesaid opposite directions through the first linkage cable, wherein a switch device is provided which includes a movable member movable in response to the mechanical stress for producing a signal effective to disable the control signal from the control circuit.

摘要: A fuel tank for motor vehicles of the type in which the rider rides the vehicle astride. A fuel cock is embedded in a concave portion formed in a body wall of the fuel tank, and a fuel suction pipe extends from the fuel cock into the tank, while a fuel pipe extends to the engine side located at the exterior of the tank. The fuel suction pipe and the fuel pipe can be brought into communication and out of communication with each other within the fuel cock. The position where the fuel cock is embedded in the body wall of the fuel tank may be at the upper surface of the tank, or alternatively it may be at a rear side of the tank.Such arrangement can afford an extremely good operability of the fuel cock while the rider sits astride the vehicle body, and permits an easy confirmation of the operating knob switching position.
