Silicone rubber compositions, of the addition curable type, comprise as a base polymer a vinyl-containing organopolysiloxane having a tetraorganosilethylenesiloxane unit of the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 are each a monovalent hydrocarbon group of from 1 to 10 carbon atoms. The silicone rubber composition gives a cured product having high strength, for example, a tensile strength of 30 kg/cm.sup.2 or above, without compounding fillers or reinforcing agents.

An organosilicone-treated silica obtained by treating(A) a silica powder having a specific surface area of at least 50 m.sup.2 /g with(B) a triorgano(1-alkoxyvinyloxy)silane having the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group or an ether linkage-containing organic group, and R.sup.2 are each a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group or an ether linkage-containing organic group. The invention also discloses an organopolysiloxane composition containing the organosilicone-treated silica and a process preparing the composition. The organosilicone-treated silica is of high quality, containing no substance with disagreeable smell or corrosiveness which has been by-produced heretofore. Hence, the composition containing the silica is free from pseudocrosslinking such as structuring or crepe hardening.

A room temperature curable organopolysiloxane composition comprising: (A) 100 parts by weight of a diorganopolysiloxane blocked by hydroxyl group at both terminal ends of its molecule, (B) from 0.5 to 30 parts by weight of an organosilicon compound having at least three silicon-bonded hydrolyzable groups in its molecule or a partially hydrolyzed product of the organosilicon compound, (C) from 0.1 to 15 parts by weight of an alkoxysilane having the following general formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each an unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group of from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, R.sup.3 is a divalent hydrocarbon group of from 1 to 8 carbon atoms which may contain an amide linkage (--CONH--) or ether oxygen linkage, Rf is a divalent perfluoroalkylene group or a divalent perfluoropolyether group, and n is an integer from 1 to 3, and a cured product of the composition. The compositions added with the fluorine-containing organosilicon compound have excellent characteristics such as water and oil repellencies, chemical resistance and contamination resistance and offer a variety of uses such as high performance sealing, coating and electric insulating materials.

Fluorine-containing dimethylchlorosilanes are prepared by reacting an ethylene compound having a fluorine-containing organic group with dimethylchlorosilane in the presence of a rhodium complex, for instance RhCl(PPh.sub.3) (Ph: phenyl group), as a catalyst. The use of a rhodium complex as a catalyst enables preparation in high yield of the fluorine-containing dimethylchlorosilane, which has been heretofore obtainable only in low yields.

A room temperature curable composition comprising:(A) a fluorine-containing organosilicon compound having the formula (1):R.sup.2 --NHCO--[Rf.sup.1 --CONH--R.sup.1 --Q--R.sup.1 --NHCO].sub.a --Rf.sup.1 --CONH--R.sup.2 (1) wherein a is an integer of 0 or more, Rf.sup.1 is a perfluoroalkylene group or perfluoropolyether group, R.sup.1 is a divalent hydrocarbon group, R.sup.2 is a monovalent aliphatic unsaturated hydrocarbon group, and Q is a particular organosilicon group,(B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane containing at least two Si--H groups in its molecule, and(C) a platinum family metal compound, the component (B) being contained such that the Si--H groups are contained in an amount of 0.5 to 5.0 moles per mole of the aliphatic unsaturated hydrocarbon group contained in the composition. The composition produces a cured product having good solvent resistance, chemical resistance, heat resistance and cold resistance.
