    摘要: Charged particle energy analysers enabling simultaneous high transmission and energy resolution are described. The analysers have an electrode structure (11) comprising coaxial inner and outer electrodes (14, 15) having inner and outer electrode surfaces (IS, OS) respectively. The inner and outer electrode surfaces are defined, at least in part, by spheroidal surfaces having meridonal planes of symmetry orthogonal to a longitudinal axis of the electrode structure (11). The inner and outer electrode surfaces are generated by rotation, about the longitudinal axis, of arcs of two non-concentric circles having different radii R2 and R1 respectively, R2 being greater than R1. The distance of the outer electrode surface from the longitudinal axis in the respective meridonal plane is R01 and the distance of the inner electrode surface from the longitudinal axis in the respective plane is R02 and R1, R2, R01 and R02 have a defined relationship.

    摘要: In a multipole linear accelerator such as of a quadrupole type, fine positional adjustment of the tip portions of the electrodes constituting the multipole structure can be made with electric contact kept substantially unaffected between the electrodes and the cavity drum in which the electrodes are mounted. Each of the electrodes are provided with a series of contact plates on both sides of the root portion of the electrode over the whole length thereof. Each of the contact plates, which are held to the root portion of the electrode by means of an adjusting screw bolt, slantwise bridges the root portion of the electrode and the inner surface of the cavity drum with elastic contact pieces interposed. Tightening or loosing the adjusting screw bolts on both sides of the electrode displaces the electrode with electric contact kept unchanged between the electrode and the cavity drum by the elastic effect of the above contact pieces made to interpose between the contact plates and both the electrodes and the cavity drum.

    摘要: A connecting terminal has an electrically-conductive ring surrounding a columnar space. Electrically-conductive elastic pieces extend from the electrically-conductive ring in the direction of the central axis of the columnar space. Electrically-conductive blades stand from the outer surfaces of the electrically-conductive elastic pieces. A lead terminal is received in the columnar space. The tip ends of the electrically-conductive elastic pieces are urged against the lead terminal. The lead terminal is prevented from withdrawing out of the through hole. Electric connection is established between the lead terminal and the elastic pieces. The blade or blades of the connecting terminal or terminals stick into the wall surface of the through hole. The connecting terminal is thus firmly held in the through hole. Electric connection is established between the blade or blades and the through hole.
