Abstract:
A dual stage filter includes an outer filter with a first media and an inner filter with a second media. A barrier is between the first media and the second media. The barrier directs fluid flow between the first and second media. The barrier creates a flow path between the first and second media, such that a working fluid, which is desired to pass through the first and second media, is directed by the barrier and flows through the second media, and such that another fluid, which is not desired to pass through the second media, is directed by the barrier and separates from the working fluid. Using the barrier, the dual stage filter can employ either or both upward flow and downward flow to achieve efficient fluid separation, for example fuel water separation in an engine fuel filter.

Abstract:
A filter and filtering cartridge with a removable center tube, for the filtering of fluids. The invention relates to a filter for circulating fluid of the type consisting of a filtering cartridge inserted in an outer shell, with the outer shell being intended to be removably connected to a base. The outer shell cooperates with an independent and removable center tube. A filtering cartridge is mounted in the outer shell around the independent and removable center tube which extends longitudinally inside said outer shell over at least a substantial part of the length of the outer shell. The filtering cartridge is longitudinally restrained inside said outer shell in part by the removable center tube.
Abstract:
A filter cartridge includes a filtering medium having a tubular cavity and an upper flange having an orifice communicating with the tubular cavity. A gas-permeable element closes off the orifice and has a greater permeability than the filtering medium, and less resistance to gas flow than the filtering medium.

Abstract:
A removable, spiral vane insert for receipt by a centrifuge rotor enclosure includes a unitary, molded plastic spiral vane portion including a spiral vane module and a baseplate that are all integrally joined together. The spiral vane portion further includes a tubular sleeve having a longitudinal axis corresponding to the axis of rotation for the rotor.
Abstract:
A fuel water separator system includes a fuel tank for storing fuel and a fuel water separator fluidly coupled to the fuel tank for separating water from the fuel. A fuel pump has a suction side that is fluidly coupled to the fuel water separator for pumping fuel from the fuel water separator. The fuel pump has a high pressure side where the fuel has a higher pressure than at the suction side. A water pump, such as a venturi or a jet pump, is fluidly coupled between the fuel water separator and the fuel tank for pumping the water from the fuel water separator into the fuel tank. The water pump is fluidly coupled to the high pressure side of the fuel pump to receive the fuel at the higher pressure to drive the water pump.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a filter cartridge (1) to be inserted in the filter feed trough of a filter for fluid flowing in a hydraulic motor or apparatus and for cooperating with a center tube (2) of said filter, said cartridge having a filter medium (3) and at least one end flange (4) joined to said filter medium, characterized in that said end flange (4) is extended by a projecting part (5) defining a cavity for lodging a gasket (7), and in that said gasket has at least one pressurizing duct from the inside of said cavity. The invention also relates to a corresponding filter cartridge (1)/gasket (7) assembly wherein said gasket has at least three lobes defining three fluid receiving areas.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a filter for liquid circulating in an engine unit or in hydraulic equipment including a tank (1) cooperating with a closure element (2) with a filtering cartridge (3) inserted in the tank (1) and adjusted therein by threadedly engaging the closure element (2) with the tank (1). The cartridge (3) includes a filtering material (4) having at one of its ends a first flange (5) and at the other of its ends a second flange (6) that includes a peripheral seal (8) designed to be sealingly clamped between an end of the tank and the closure element (2) when the tank (1) is threadedly with the closure element (2). The invention is characterized in that it includes at least one element forming a stop (9, 91) provided on the second flange (6) and/or on the closure element (2) and/or on the tank (1), the element forming a stop (9,91) being designed to control clamping of the peripheral seal (8) with the closure element (2).
