    摘要: A turbine housing for a turbocharger for use in a reciprocating internal combustion engine includes a housing having a housing axis and configured to house a rotatable shaft having a turbine wheel disposed thereon. The housing includes a volute having a volute chamber disposed around the housing axis for receiving the turbine wheel. The volute has a first volute inlet providing a first flow path in fluid communication with the volute chamber and second volute inlet providing a second flow path in fluid communication with the volute chamber. The first volute inlet is circumferentially spaced about the housing axis from the second volute inlet by a phase angle α. The first volute inlet is also radially spaced about the housing axis from the second volute inlet, and may also be axially spaced from the second volute inlet along the housing axis.

The first and second vanes may be rotatably coupled to the intake manifold assembly. The first vane may be located within an outlet of a first intake passage and the second vane may be located within an outlet of a second intake passage. The first and second vanes may be displaceable from an open position to a closed position. The first vane may extend along a wall defining the first intake passage when in the open position and the second vane may extend along a wall defining the second intake passage when in the open position. The actuation mechanism may be coupled to the first and second vanes to rotate the first and second vanes between the open and closed positions.

    摘要: An exhaust gas recirculation system comprises an exhaust driven turbocharger to deliver a compressed intake charge through an intake charge conduit and to an engine. A compressed intake charge cooler receives, cools and transits the compressed intake charge. A cooling system, independent of the engine cooling system delivers coolant to the compressed intake charge cooler to transfer heat from the compressed intake charge thereto and to a cooler. Exhaust gas conduits extend between the exhaust system of the internal combustion engine, from locations upstream and downstream of the exhaust driven turbocharger, to the intake charge conduit. Exhaust gas coolers receive, cool and transit the exhaust gas.

    摘要: An intake reservoir system is for an engine having an intake passage leading to a cylinder, and a check valve in the intake passage to allow fluid flow toward the cylinder and obstruct fluid back-flow in the reverse direction. A bypass port is located on the intake passage so that the bypass port communicates with a trapped volume defined by the portion of the intake passage between the check valve and cylinder. The intake reservoir system comprises an inflower for enabling fluid to flow into the trapped volume when the pressure therein is at least equal to the pressure upstream of the check valve. The intake reservoir system further comprises a reservoir cavity, a port passage connected between the reservoir cavity and bypass port enabling communication between the reservoir cavity and trapped volume, and a volume controller enabling adjustment of the volume of the reservoir cavity.

    摘要: An intake system for an internal combustion engine comprises an exhaust driven turbocharger configured to deliver compressed intake charge, comprising exhaust gas from the exhaust system and ambient air, through an intake charge conduit and to cylinders of the internal combustion engine. An intake charge cooler is in fluid communication with the intake charge conduit. A cooling system, independent of the cooling system for the internal combustion engine, is in fluid communication with the intake charge cooler through a cooling system conduit. A coolant pump delivers a low temperature cooling medium from the cooling system to and through the intake charge cooler for the transfer of heat from the compressed intake charge thereto. A low temperature cooler receives the heated cooling medium through the cooling system conduit for the transfer of heat therefrom.
