摘要: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for monitoring a pressure exerted on a tissue site are provided. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a pressure switch adapted for placement adjacent the tissue site. The pressure switch includes an antenna operable to receive a first signal, a diode disposed adjacent the antenna, and a membrane covering the antenna and the diode. The membrane is movable from an unpressed position to a pressed position when a force is exerted on the membrane to cause electrical communication between the antenna and the diode. The antenna is operable to send a second signal when the membrane is in the pressed position. The apparatus may also include a transmitter operable to emit the first signal to the antenna. The transmitter may output an alert when the transmitter receives the second signal.

摘要: A reduced-pressure treatment system for treating a wound on a patient includes a composite manifold that may help prevent or minimize injury to a wound edge of the wound being treated with reduced pressure. The composite manifold includes a perimeter manifold member and an inboard manifold member. The perimeter manifold member is designed to not collapse substantially under reduced pressure in a therapy range. The perimeter manifold member may be more rigid with respect to compressibility than the inboard manifold member. A sealing member is used to form a fluid seal over the wound, and a reduced-pressure subsystem provides reduced pressure to the composite manifold. Other systems, methods, and dressings are presented.

摘要: Systems, devices, and methods for treating a tissue site on a patient with reduced pressure are presented. In one instance, a reduced-pressure interface includes a conduit housing having a cavity divided by a dividing wall into a reduced-pressure-application region and a pressure-detection region. The reduced-pressure interface further includes a reduced-pressure port disposed within the reduced-pressure-application region, a pressure-detection port disposed within the pressure-detection region, and a base connected to the conduit housing, the base having a manifold-contacting surface. The dividing wall includes a surface substantially coplanar with the manifold-contacting surface.

摘要: A system, dressing, and method for providing reduced pressure treatment to a tissue site on a wound bed of a patient includes a variable wound dressing having a variable cover that is pliable at ambient pressure and less-pliable when placed under reduced pressure. The variable wound dressing has a first side and a second, patient-facing side, and in use, a treatment space is formed between the second, patient-facing side of the variable dressing and the wound bed. One or more ports are used to supply reduced pressure within the variable cover and to the wound site. A reduced-pressure subsystem is also included that is operable to supply reduced pressure to the one or more ports.

摘要: An enclosure for a medical pumping device generally comprises a front shell, a back shell and a polymeric substrate interposed therewith. The polymeric substrate comprises at least one gasket seat corresponding to the perimetric edge of each shell. In use, various components are securely placed within the plurality of component compartments within the polymeric substrate and thereafter encased within the enclosure between the front shell and back shell. According to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the polymeric substrate also serves to form bumpers about the edges of the enclosure when the shells and substrate are assembled together.
