Abstract:
A persona determination approach can be utilized to apply digital personas across multiple communications domains. A service gateway can determine whether to transfer a request for communications services to a Persona Determination Mechanism (PDM). The PDM can select a digital persona based on available information and transmit the digital persona to the service gateway. The service gateway can process the communications services based on the selected digital persona or based on the determination not to transfer the request. In some methods, the service gateway can forward the processed request to one or more network elements for further processing. Related systems are also disclosed.
Abstract:
An arrangement provides a work environment to a remote user who is logged-in as a member of an enterprise, which work environment includes both a telecommunication capability and a data processing capability, and both are concurrently associated with the logged-in user. The data processing capability is restricted to the user obtaining only views of files, rather than the files themselves, and all file processing that can potentially store data is restricted to applications that can store files only in a range of locations specified by the enterprise.
Abstract:
Paging, cellular telephone or other messaging functionality is incorporated into a virtual contact center system to permit logged-off customer service representatives (CSRs) to be alerted to a need to logon to the system, and to permit CSRs to alert supervisors or specialists to logon to the system. Matching at a contact control server of existing conditions to predetermined criteria, e.g., failure to login at an assigned time, or specified network conditions (such as length of customer queues), triggers a command for a communication to one or more logged-off CSRS. Results of follow-up testing at the contact control server for matches causes page requests to be renewed, redirected or canceled. Unusual contact requirements or emerging network conditions requiring supervisory input or increased monitoring by traffic or subject matter specialists is likewise triggered by analysis at a contact control server or by CSR click selection of messages to be sent to a virtual contact center requesting issuance of information such as web pages to cognizant personnel.
Abstract:
A method and system for providing an emergency contact service are disclosed. The emergency contact system monitors presence off users with respect to various user devices in order to determine at which devices each user is present. An emergency message is then transmitted to devices at which the user is present. The emergency contact service is then capable of receiving a confirmation message to confirm receipt of the emergency message. The emergency contact service can track the users by retrieving location information, such as a GPS location, associated with a device at which a user is present. The emergency contact service can then identify whether a user in is the vicinity of an emergency location, and transmit an emergency message to the user is the user is in the vicinity of the emergency location.

Abstract:
Systems and methods of content delivery are provided. A particular content delivery system includes a gateway to deliver content to an end user device. The particular content delivery system also includes a content delivery module to deliver content to the gateway for display on the end user device. The particular content delivery module also includes a management controller. The particular content delivery system also includes an out-of-band signaling controller which receives input from the management controller and provides signaling to control the gateway.
Abstract:
A network interface unit is provided for use intermediate a LAN and a public or private network, or a combination of both, for establishing secure links to a VPN gateway. Login by a LAN client with the network interface unit, addressing, authentication, and other configuration operations achieved using a web page-based GUI are applied in establishing tunnels from LAN clients to desired VPN destinations. Illustrative network interface units include a DHCP server and provide encryption-decryption and encapsulation-decapsulation of data packets for communication with VPN nodes. Configuration and connection of a client are further enhanced by a built-in DNS server and other functional servers to provide a high degree of autonomy in establishing connections to a desired VPN gateway via an ISP or other public and/or private network links to. The interface unit then performs required authentication exchanges, and required encryption key exchanges.
Abstract:
A system and method for call control wherein a call received at a communication device may be controlled through an IP device connected to an IP network over which at least a portion of the call was routed. The IP device is connected to the IP network via a control gateway.
Abstract:
Certain exemplary embodiments provide a method, comprising: for each of a plurality of subscribed services associated with a subscriber endpoint in a communications network, for a connection associated with the subscribed service: determining a current QOS metric; and utilizing the current QOS metric and historical QOS metrics for the subscribed service, adjusting a QOS-affecting variable to change a future QOS metric.
