Abstract:
A system for tracking non-verbally communicated patient comfort feedback includes a patient comfort feedback capturing device, a treatment location data capturing device, and an interface. The interface is configured to receive patient comfort feedback data from the patient comfort feedback capturing device and treatment location data from the treatment location data capturing device, and store same in association with each other and a time of capture.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for nonverbally communicating patient comfort data are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the systems and methods may include one or more operations including receiving patient comfort data associated with one or more patients through a patient comfort level input device during a course of a treatment session, transmitting the patient comfort data associated with one or more patients received through the patient comfort level input device, and alerting one or more practitioners of the patient comfort data associated with one or more patients received through the patient comfort level input device. In some embodiments, the systems and methods may include at least one of the additional operations of receiving objective data indicating one or more particular treatment types substantially contemporaneously with a performance of the one or more particular treatment types and automatically generating one or more objective treatment session notes for inclusion within at least one of one or more patient charts and one or more medical records.
Abstract:
Devices are provided herein for the purification of free flowing or semi-free flowing bodies of water by removing impurities, such as nitrates. In one or more implementations, the impurity-removing device includes a cylindrically shaped housing that is open on both ends and defining an inner cavity. A cap is disposed at one opening at one end of the housing, the cap having multiple openings placed through the cap and being sized and shaped to fit the opening at the end of the housing. The impurity-removing device also includes a collection strip on an outer surface of the housing that is colored, sized and shaped to collect heat or energy from the environment, and an impurity-removing medium contained within the inner cavity.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an electrode for acquiring physiological signals of a recipient. Furthermore the present invention relates to a textile fabric for use in a garment to be worn by a recipient, and to a monitoring system for monitoring of physiological parameters of a recipient. In order to provide an electrode for acquiring physiological signals of a recipient, which on the one hand provides a soft, and comfortable skin contact, whilst on the other hand assures a high signal quality, an electrode (1) for acquiring physiological signals of a recipient is suggested, which comprises at least two conductive textile layers (2, 3) positioned on top of each other, wherein the first layer (2) is made of a woven material, and the second layer (3) having a working surface (4) to be brought into contact with the recipient's skin is made of a knitted material.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for treating cardiac arrhythmias are provided. An interval between first and second consecutive beats of a heart, having first and second chamber types, is determined. The heart is paced at a first rate if the first beat is from the first chamber type and the second beat is from the second chamber type and the interval is less than a predetermined amount of time or if the first and second beats are both from the second chamber type. The heart is paced at a second rate if the first beat is from the first chamber type and the second beat is from the second chamber type and the interval is more than the predetermined amount of time.
Abstract:
A method for packaging an agent for delivery within a body cavity. A reservoir within a package contains a specified quantity of the agent and is either contiguous with, or coupled to, a dispensing node such as a swab. Depth of insertion of the dispensing node into the body cavity is restricted to a specified depth by a penetration-restricting feature that forms part of the package.
Abstract:
The invention provides automatic control of a deep brain stimulation system (2) using tremor detection based on accelerometer signals. Because no manual interventions are necessary, the ease of use for the patient (1) is greatly enhanced. Furthermore the autonomy of the patients in normal daily life is increased. The present invention also results in a reduced energy consumption and consequently longer battery life. On the other side with the present invention an optimal treatment is possible, adjusted to the patient's symptoms without the help of a physician.
Abstract:
RF amplifier bias system for TDMA application. A bias circuit (200) is coupled to an RF power amplifier (201) circuit. The bias circuit includes a charge pump/sink circuit (215), a voltage reference circuit (204) and voltage scaling circuit (208, 210, 214). The bias system provides fast response time when transitioning between various bias voltages applied to an FET RF transistor (244).
Abstract:
A system and method of automated incubating and reading of biological indicators is disclosed. In one embodiment, the automated biological indicator incubator is configured to control the temperature of incubation test wells to a desired temperature range suitable for use with a biological indicator, control the incubation period, and detect a change in the biological indicator colored media providing an indication of growth or lack of growth. In other embodiments, the automated biological indicator incubator is self-calibrating, and provides a communication interface to an external device, such as a computer. The communication interface is suitable for use to collect and analyze data associated with the biological indicator during the incubator period, and for making a determination of growth or lack of growth and success of the sterilization process as well as a permanent document of the monitoring of the sterilization process.
