摘要: A stereo-examination system including an objective arrangement configured to receive an object-side beam bundle emanating from the object plane and to convert the object-side beam bundle into an image-side beam bundle and a selection arrangement configured to select at least one pair of partial beam bundles from the image side beam bundle. The system also includes an image transmission apparatus configured to generate stereoscopic images of an object positionable in the object plane from the at least one pair of partial beam bundles and an illumination arrangement. The illumination arrangement includes a light source, a beam coupler to superpose a beam cross-section of the illumination beam with the image-side beam bundle, and a field of a plurality of state-changing elements. The elements are selectively switchable between a first state directed and a second state in which light of the illumination beam is and is not directed to the object plane.

摘要: An optical observation apparatus includes: an optical system which produces an image of an object being observed and a video device (7) for recording the image and producing an image signal. The video device (7) includes a first memory (71) for temporarily storing the image signal, a second memory (73) in data communication (77) with the first memory (71), and a control device (75) in communication (76A, 76B) with both memories (71, 73) for controlling the storage procedure in the first memory and data transfer from the first to the second memory. The control device (75) controls the storage procedure and the data transfer so that overwriting of such data already stored for a given period of time in the first memory (71) is effected and that transfer of the content of the first memory (71) to the second memory (73) takes place as a reaction to a trigger signal.

摘要: A surgical microscope (100) is especially suited for use in neurosurgery. The surgical microscope has an illuminating arrangement (101) for making available illuminating light in an operating region (117) to be examined with the surgical microscope (100). The illuminating arrangement (101) contains a high-power light source (102) which includes an intensity adjusting device (112). The intensity adjusting device (112) makes possible to adjust the intensity of the illuminating light (116), which is guided to the object region (117), between a maximum value and a minimum value. The surgical microscope (100) has a control unit (170) for the illuminating arrangement (101) which includes an operator-controlled module (172) via which the illuminating arrangement (101) can be activated and controlled. For adjusting the intensity of the illuminating light (116) guided to the operating region (117), the control unit coacts with the adjustable filter unit (112). A signal generator (175) is provided which outputs a warning signal when an intensity of the illuminating light is adjusted via the operator-controlled module (172) which exceeds the safety limit value stored in a memory (171).

摘要: A lightguiding device, which can be an integral part of a lightguiding system, can increase the light intensity exiting from a lightguide by concentrating the transmitted light into a small portion of the lightguide's cross section. The device consists of a section of a lightguiding material which has been bent at an angle greater than 45 degrees relative to the axis of light transmission, preferably at an angle of 90 degrees with a small bend radius. In the bent section, a homogeneous refractive index is required at least for the lightguide's core. The lightguide must be terminated immediately beyond the bent section. Alternatively, a preformed bent section of appropriate lightguiding material can be attached to an end of a straight section of lightguide to increase the exiting light intensity. All types of lightguiding systems can be used to enhance output intensities, including glass or pure silica lightguides, hollow waveguides, liquid core lightguides and plastic lightguides. It is possible to provide exiting light of increased intensity across the full electromagnetic spectrum from UV to IR through selection of appropriate lightguiding materials.
