摘要: Vehicles equipped with certain embodiments may be used to pick up a load and to assist the vehicle operator's control of the vehicle in a manner that inhibits damage to the load. In some embodiments, portions of the system measure a distance between a vehicle and a load. The distance measurement is used by a controller in the vehicle to alter one or more of vehicle and/or vehicle component speed, acceleration characteristics, deceleration characteristics, target speed, or speed limit, singularly or in any combination.

摘要: Commonly available industrial vehicles may be constructed with a frame originally designed for a particular fuel source where such a frame is used to construct an industrial vehicle that uses a different fuel source with a different fuel storage compared to the industrial vehicle for which such a frame was originally intended. Such a truck powered by a different fuel source typically includes an empty space that was originally intended to house the original fuel, and such empty space may be used to increase the hydraulic storage capacity for such a truck.

摘要: A transmission system includes a Central Processing Unit (CPU) that controls truck braking energy by sharing energy dissipation between clutch packs. The CPU reduces engine speed and then slips the two clutch packs at the same time to maintain a reduced turbine speed for a torque converter. In another aspect of the transmission system, energy loss is reduced during high draw bar pull conditions. The engine speed is modulated to trim energy peaks at low pushing or pulling speeds. An additional transmission gear reduction restores the lost pushing or pulling forces while generating less heat in the torque converter.

摘要: A vehicle braking system includes a service brake pedal and a sensing device configured to monitor a position of the service brake pedal. A processing device is configured to control an amount of braking force provided by the vehicle braking system as a function of the position of the service brake pedal. The braking system further includes a return spring operatively coupled to the service brake pedal and configured to provide a substantially linear pedal effort feedback during an initial range of motion of the service brake pedal. Additionally, a damping device that operates in compression as the service brake pedal is depressed is configured to provide a substantially non-linear pedal effort feedback during a subsequent range of motion of the service brake pedal.

摘要: A system includes a detection device configured to transmit and receive one or more signals in a generally vertical direction above a vehicle. Additionally, the system may include a processing device configured to measure a time of flight associated with the transmission and receipt of the one or more signals in the generally vertical direction. A distance travelled by the one or more signals may be determined based, at least in part, on the measured time of flight, and the distance travelled may be compared with a threshold distance to determine an overhead clearance of the vehicle. In response to determining the overhead clearance, a vehicle system may be activated.
