摘要： An electric pump comprises a stator, a rotor, and an endshield. The interface plate is fixed to the stator and is configured to couple the electric motor to a pump. The pump volute is formed as an integral portion of the endshield, thereby minimizing the axial length of the electric pump. A drainage passageway is provided on the endshield to harmlessly drain away any fluid that seeps past the pump's seals. In one embodiment of the invention, the drainage passageway is a groove that faces the stator and is configured to facilitate the evaporation of and leak fluid by channeling the fluid near the stator, which warms the fluid and thereby increases the fluid's evaporation rate.

摘要： A clothes dryer includes a motor adapted to be mounted on a frame of the dryer for driving a dryer belt to rotate a drum of the dryer. The motor includes a rotor adapted to rotate the belt, at least one winding energizable to cause rotation of the rotor, and a first switch operable to control energization of the winding. A second switch has a sensor for sensing belt breakage. The second switch is mounted on the first switch and is electrically connected to the winding so that when the belt is no longer sensed, the second switch stops operation of the winding and thereby stops rotation of the rotor.

摘要： An improved mechanism for retaining a hub-containing element such as a pulley, fan, gear or the like, on a shaft wherein the shaft has a circumferential groove formed near its end and the element has a hub to engage the shaft with a plurality of flexible fingers formed around and extending onward from the hub. The fingers have a pawl disposed to drop into the circumferential groove on the shaft and thereby secure the element in place. The pawls can be of various configurations so as to both align properly with the groove and to accommodate tolerances in the shaft assembly. A protective collar surrounds the fingers and extends axially from the hub to protect the fingers from entanglement and breakage during manufacture, storage, or transportation. The shaft also has splines formed therein proximate the groove that matingly engage corresponding keyways formed inside the hub so that the shaft positively mates with the hub.
