摘要： A liquid level sensor comprises a plurality of electrodes arranged in a defined relationship with respect to a container filling trajectory, a signal generator coupled to one or more of the plurality of electrodes, a signal receiver coupled to one or more of the plurality of electrodes, and a sensing circuit coupled to at least one of the signal generator and signal receiver. The sensing circuit is configured to produce an output indicative of electrical resistance between at least one pair of the plurality of electrodes. The sensing circuit may be associated with the signal receiver and/or with the signal generator.

摘要： A method and apparatus is disclosed for automated on-the-fly dispensing of reagents. The apparatus includes a detachable reagent dispensing module supported by a support frame. The dispensing module includes a self-contained pressurized fluid delivery subsystem that facilitates efficient attachment and detachment of the module, including pressurized reagent containers and associated accessories arranged such that each reagent container has a discrete fluid path terminating at a corresponding discrete reagent dispensing tip. The dispensing tips are supported in a common dispensing head, and are arranged geometrically such that the centers of the dispensing tips are separated by distances corresponding to relevant dimensions of particular assay plates to be used therewith. Such a geometric arrangement allows for dispensing of multiple reagents substantially simultaneously into multiple corresponding target wells of the assay plate, efficiently and precisely.

摘要： A spring structure for a weight scale is described which is assembled from four extruded aluminum parts. The structure readily lends itself to the addition of a platform for placing weights and its deflection resulting from a weight is essentially invariant to the location of the weight on the platform. The sensor which converts deflection of the structure into an electrical signal includes two conducting plates, attached to the structure, which constitute a variable capacitor. The variable capacitor is part of a self-excited oscillator circuit which yields a frequency which is accurately related linearly to the value of the weight. Means are provided for distorting one of the capacitor plates to provide further improvement of invariance to weight location on the platform.
