摘要: An intelligent electronic device segregates urgent data frames from non-urgent data frames on reception so that the urgent data frames may be handled with greater priority. A switching device is disposed between an external network interface and multiple internal network ports. Based on a network data type indicia, urgent data frames are routed to one of the ports, and non-urgent data frames are routed to another port. A processor coupled to the internal network ports handles urgent data frames before handling any non-urgent data frames.

摘要: A system for controlling and automating an electric power delivery system by executing time coordinated instruction sets to achieve a desired result. A communication master may implement the execution of time coordinated instruction sets in a variety of circumstances. The communication may be embodied as an automation controller in communication with intelligent electronic devices (IEDs). The communication master may also be embodied as an IED that is configured to coordinate the actions of other IEDs. The time coordinated instruction sets may include steps for checking status of power system equipment before executing. The time coordinated instruction sets may include reactionary steps to execute if one of the steps fails. The time coordinated instruction sets may also be implemented based on a condition detected in the electric power delivery system, or may be implemented through high level systems, such as a SCADA system or a wide area control and situational awareness system.

摘要: Mileage tracking devices track a vehicle's mileage. A top is hingedly attached to a bottom in a “clamshell” design. The front of the top has an LCD touchscreen, and the front of the bottom has a keypad. The rear of the top has a solar panel, and the rear of the bottom has a battery compartment enclosing a rechargeable battery. One side of the bottom has a USB port, and the opposing side of the bottom has a power port that receives one end of a car charger. Voice recognition software and data are stored in memory accessed by a microprocessor. The mileage tracking device provides calculator, calendar, address book, mileage log, and car maintenance functions. The LCD touchscreen displays the current date and time and the level of charge of the rechargeable battery.

摘要: A method and apparatus for performing surgery inside the human retina using fluidic internal limiting membrane separation (FILMS) to remove the internal limiting retinal layer from the neural retinal layer at the macula. The method comprises inserting a hollow microcannula between the retinal internal limiting membrane and the neural retinal layer at or near the macula and injecting a sterile fluid, such as sodium hyaluronate, through said microcannula and thereby raising the macular internal limiting membrane retinal layer away from the neural retina such that it can then be removed by conventional means, while simultaneously smoothing the neural retina by localized pressure tamponad. The apparatus comprises a hollow microcannula having a proximal end a distal end and a distal tip. The distal end is shaped to conform tangentially to the surface of the retina. The distal tip is sharply beveled and adapted to discharge a fluid substance and to easily insert under the internal limiting membrane retinal layer and achieve occlusion of the lumen upon minimal insertion, and is sufficiently microscopic as to not substantially injure the neural retina when introduced under the ILM.

摘要: Apparatus is provided for the virtual expansion of the power providing capacity of a power supply, e.g., for a stereophonic audio system with a given number of channels which may be selectively increased to provide a surround audio system. A plurality of amplifiers, each having an adjustable gain, are powered from the power supply. The current drawn from the power supply is sensed. When additional amplifiers are activated, the total amount of power drawn by all of the amplifiers can exceed a predetermined level which corresponds to the original plurality of amplifiers. However, when it is sensed that the total amount of power drawn exceeds the predetermined level, the gain of all of the amplifiers is reduced so that the power drawn from the power supply does not exceed the predetermined level. Thus, the virtual power providing capacity of the power supply is expanded to power the additional amplifiers.
