The controller executes a determination process to determine propriety of an output range of the voltage output from the power supply by the output change process and a data process for a shift to shift the range when a determination result is inappropriate.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, an electric current detector, and a controller. The image forming device includes a latent image bearer, a charging rotator, a charging power supply, a latent image writing unit, and a developing unit. The controller (i) determines an uneven electric resistance of the charging rotator in a direction of rotation of the charging rotator, based on a detection result by the electric current detector, (ii) perform, at a predetermined timing, data construction processing to construct change pattern data to change an output value of a voltage from the charging power supply according to a predetermined pattern, based on the uneven electric resistance, and (iii) perform, in a print job to form a toner image in response to an instruction, voltage changing processing to charge the latent image bearer while changing the output value of the voltage, based on the change pattern data.

The toner adhesion amount information detection unit detects, as the toner adhesion amount information, developing current flowing between the developer bearer and the latent image bearer. The image density unevenness detection unit obtains, from the image information, an index value indicating a toner adhesion amount of a toner image portion when the developing current is detected, and detects the image density unevenness based on the image information and the developing current when the index value indicates a toner adhesion amount of a prescribed amount or more.

The image density detector detects a toner density of an image formed on an image bearing member. An image forming device forms the image using a density adjustable element that adjusts the density of the image. The rotator forms an image pattern while the density adjustable element is changed, and a density thereof is detected by the image density detector. The image density controller controls the image forming device using a density correction data for the density adjustable element corresponding to a rotational period of the rotator. The timing correction data obtainer obtains timing correction data for correction of driving timing of the image forming device based on a change in the density of the image pattern detected by the image density detector.
