摘要: A plurality of rectangular electrolytic cells are disposed in at least two rows of a side-by-side arrangement of cells. A first set of cathode bus bars extends along the outside of the short end of the cell facing the other row of cells. This set of bus bars, along with a second set of bus bars disposed beneath the cell, collect cathode current from the upstream long side of the cell. The second bus bars are positioned, and current through each set of bus bars is controlled, to minimize disruption of the molten bath due to circulation flow.

摘要: A method of thinning lateral flowers of apples, comprising applying of flower thinning effective amount of a pyrazole compound represented by general formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; andR.sub.2 and R.sub.3, which are the same or different, each represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms,to flowers of apples. A compound in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each a methyl group, and R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom is preferred. The pyrazole compounds are applied at a flowering stage of apples, preferably in a period from immediately after full bloom to terminal flowers of apples to 2 days thereafter, typically in a proportion of from about 5 mg to about 75 g per tree at a coverage in a range of from about 20 mg/10a to about 2,000 g/10a.

摘要: Projections are formed on the tip end part of a pipe for directly fitting the pipe into a capsule without using any extraneous elements, thus providing an economical and firmly fitting mechanism. Such a structure is commonly used in a heat exchanger. A tank includes a capsule formed into a box shape with one side open and a bottom panel disposed at the upper and lower ends of a heat exchanger and brazed thereto. A pipe fitting hole is formed in a side panel of the capsule, and around the pipe fitting hole is concavely formed a ring-shaped part inside the tank, and around the-ring-shaped part is formed a cylindrical part approximately at a right angle to the plane of ring-shaped part. On pipe is formed a flange part, and on a tip end part of the pipe are formed projections. The pipe is fit to the capsule of the tank by caulking an annular sealing material to the outer periphery of an end part of the pipe, fitting the end part into the pipe fitting hole, and contracting the annular sealing material between the ring-shaped part, the cylindrical part and the flange part.

摘要: In electrolytic cells for producing aluminum in a side-by-side arrangement, a number of cathode bus bars connected to cathode current collector bars projected from upstream long side of each electrolytic cell are connected to at least one rising bus bars provided at upstream long side of an adjacent electrolytic cell provided on downstream side through at least one cathode bus bars provided in the space below the relevant cell and in parallel to the axial line of a row of electrolytic cells; the remaining number thereof are connected to rising bus bars provided at short ends of the adjacent electrolytic cell on the downstream side through cathode bus bars extending along outsides at the short ends of the relevant electrolytic cell, a number of cathode bus bars connected to cathode current collector bars projected from downstream long side of each electrolytic cell are connected to at least one rising bus bar provided on upstream long side of the adjacent electrolytic cell on the downstream side, and the remaining number thereof are connected to rising bus bars provided at the short ends of the adjacent electrolytic cell on the downstream side through cathode bus bars extending along outsides at the short ends of the adjacent electrolytic cell on the downstream side. Occurrence of circulating flow phenomena in molten aluminum layer in the cells can be suppressed to improve the current efficiency in the production of aluminum.

摘要: A herbicidal emulsion composition comprising an ethenylamide compound as a herbicidally active component and a dichloroacetamide compound as a phytotoxicity reducing agent. This composition has excellent keeping stability because the phytotoxicity reducing agent of the composition does not decompose and crystals do not separate out even when it is kept for a long time. An amino alcohol and a polar nonaqueous solvent as a solvent are added to the ethenylamide compound and the dichloroacetamide compound to prepare a herbicidal emulsion composition.
