摘要： In the production of methacrolein by vapor phase catalytic oxidation of isobutylene and/or t-butyl alcohol, an improved process for suppressing the amount of acetone to be by-produced which comprises contacting a gaseous mixture comprising isobutylene or t-butyl alcohol, molecular oxygen and steam with a metal oxide catalyst composition comprising molybdenum and bismuth as the essential metal components, the amount of steam in the gaseous mixture being kept to be not more than 4 mol per mol of isobutylene or not more than 3 mol per mol of t-butyl alcohol.

摘要： A bleach product comprising an aqueous solution at a pH of 8 or more is disclosed that has an excellent bleaching activity without an irritating odor. The aqueous solution comprises: (A) from 0.5 to 60 weight percent of a compound selected from the group consisting of hydrogen peroxide and peroxide compounds which generate hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solution, (B) cyanourea and (C) an alkaline agent has. The product can be used for removal of mold with excellent results.

摘要： A copper complex coordinated with a Schiff base is provided herein, which complex is especially advantageous to catalyze the asymmetric synthesis of alkyl chrysanthemates. The specific complex of the present invention is a copper complex coordinated with a chiral Schiff base of the formula: ##STR1## wherein C* is an asymmetric carbon atom, R.sup.1 is selected from (a) alkyl groups whose carbon atom number is 1-10, and (b) aralkyl groups with or without alkoxy substituent(s), whose total carbon atom number is 7-20, R.sup.2 is selected from aryl groups with alkoxy substituent(s), whose total carbon atom number is 7-30, X is selected from (a) hydrogen, (b) alkyl groups having 1-10 carbon atoms, (c) a phenyl group, (d) alkoxy groups having 1-10 carbon atoms, (e) halogen atoms, (f) nitro, or X is benzo which together with the ring to which it is attached forms a naphthalene ring, and Y is a hydrogen atom.

摘要： Provided herein is a method of peroxide activation which comprises combining (1) an aqueous bleaching solution with hydrogen peroxide base, and (2) an aqueous solution containing as major components a sufficient amount of dicyandiamide for hydrogen peroxide activation, and an organic builder and/or inorganic builder, and maintaining the combined solution at alkaline pH. These solutions are stable when stored in separate containers. As needed, the solutions are mixed together. This invention is effective for bleaching soil and for removing mold, applicable for cleaning, bleaching, sterilizing or deodorizing in either domestic or industrial use.
