    摘要: A compact shaving kit is provided that comprises a slim crush-proof, latched, watertight clamshell case, constructed from tempered aluminum or other lightweight, high tensile strength material. The case contains retention means for shaving soap or cream, shaving brush, one or more safety razors, and a storage means for accessory items such as extra razor blades, after-shave balm or cologne. The case also includes a portable mechanical retention means for the shaving brush, for after-use storage in an upright, inverted position. The case may also contain a mirror. The case is dimensioned for insertion into a travel bag, toiletry bag or suitcase.

In this system, an axial cutting tool (12) is rotated about its axis and axially moved into engagement with the workpiece for cutting material from the workpiece. When the tool (12) is engaged with the workpiece, the tool is also moved transaxially and simultaneously with the axial movement whereby material is removed from the workpiece along a curved path.

A ring clasp (96) is attached to the lateral end of plantar strap (82) for receiving the free end of Achilles strap (94) and for cooperating therewith to enable adjustable tensioning of the strap about shoe (98). Eyelets (88) are provided along the edges (90, 92) of dorsal straps (84, 86). A lace (106) is provided to extend between edges (90, 92) of dorsal straps (84, 86) and to be received in eyelets (88) to thus adjustably tension the dorsal straps about shoe (98). By tensioning the dorsal straps (84, 86) and the Achilles strap (94), a stabilizing force can be directed along the line of movement of the infratalar joints of the foot to prevent excess pronation thereof during exercise.

    摘要: Apparatus to provide calibrated frequency modulation (FM) of frequencies generated in a phase-locked loop is disclosed. A phase-locked loop (PLL) includes a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) which is locked to a loop frequence signal frequency. A modulo-10 divider is included which adds integral multiples of two pi radians of phase to the output signal of the VCO whenever the modulus of the divider is reduced by an integer. This forces the PLL to step change the loop frequency by an integral multiple of the reference frequency. A sampling circuit senses and measures the change in the VCO control voltage resulting from the step change in the loop frequency. The change in the control voltage is a measure of the VCO gain at that frequency. The change in the control voltage is converted to a digital number which is loaded into a multiplying digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to adjust the gain of the DAC. The effective combined gain of the DAC and the VCO is constant and independent of the VCO gain over the entire range of the VCO thereby providing an equal amount of modulation from an FM signal at any frequency of the VCO.

    摘要: An orthotic shoe-foot interface includes a shock absorbing layer that is selectively disposed over the bony prominences of the foot and the tendon attachment areas of selected ones of tendons of the foot. An area of shock absorbing material (12) covers the calcaneal prominence, an area of shock absorbing material (14) covers the heads of the matatarsal bones and an area of shock absorbing material (16) covers the base of the fifth metatarsal bone. Areas of shock absorbing material (22) and (30) cover the posterior and anterior tibial tendon attachment points to cause compression thereof. The Achilles tendon is covered by an area of shock absorbing material (20) that also covers the attachment point of the Achilles tendon into the calcaneal bone. The tendons attached to the great toe on the medial side thereof are covered by an area of shock absorbing material (24) and the tendons attaching to the small toe on the lateral side thereof are covered by an area of shock absorbing material (26). Tendons attached to the base of the fifth metatarsal are covered by an area of shock absorbing material (28). An elastic layer is attached to the shock absorbing layer to form an overall sock exclusive of the toes that, when disposed between the shoe and the foot, provides both a shock-absorbing function and a shoe-filling function to reduce the amount of the shock imparted to the bony prominences of the foot and the tendon attachments thereto in addition to preventing foot slippage within the shoe.

A fibrous layer (52) and a hook-like layer (50) are disposed on the exterior of the Achilles strap (30) such that the free end thereof can be pulled through the ring clasp and attached thereto. A fibrous layer (48) and a hook-like layer (46) are disposed on the exterior of the dorsal strap (26) to provide a similar attachment. By tensioning the dorsal strap (26) and the Achilles strap (30), a stabilizing force can be directed along the line of motion of the infratalar joints of the foot to prevent excess pronation thereof during exercise.
