摘要: A portable computing device includes at least a base portion of a lightweight material that includes at least a wedge shaped top case having a trough formed at an interfacing edge thereof. The trough includes a raised portion having a first contact surface and a receiving area, and a bottom case coupled to the top case to form a complete housing for at least a portion of the portable computing device for enclosing at least a plurality of operational components and a plurality of structural components. The portable computing device also includes at least a lid portion pivotally connected to the base portion by a hinge assembly. In the described embodiments, the lid portion has a display in communication with one or more of the plurality of components in the base portion by way of or more electrical conductors that electrically connect the base portion to the lid portion.

摘要: A multi-layered cable consisting of three or more conductive layers separated by layers of dielectric and/or adhesive material. The bottom layer and the top layer may act as return path for the transmitted signals and as a shield to prevent interference between these and external electrical signals. Located between the bottom layer and the top layer, the middle layer may transmit desired signals through the flexible cable. The material selection and specifics of each of the layers should be selected so as to achieve a balance in which the desired electrical impedance and mechanical flexibility requirements are met. The cable may also include one or more vias connecting the bottom layer to the top layer, providing shielding all the way around the flex cable. An additional conductive sock may be used to improve shielding effectiveness of the top and bottom layer and to connect to I/O connector shells and the system Faraday cage.

摘要: A recharging circuit including a diode and a battery serially connected and coupled in parallel to a power source includes (a) a first indicator connected across the power source and illuminated by a charging current delivered by the power source; (b) a second indicator connected between the power source and the junction of the battery and diode, and which is illuminated by discharge current delivered by the battery in the absence of charging current from the power source, and (c) a transistor coupled across the power source and to the second indicator, and being biased by charging current so as to prevent illuminated of the second indicator. The recharging circuit is included in a rechargeable flashlight and the first and second indicators are formed by a single bi-color light emitting diode.
