A method of measuring a pH of a solution includes: emitting light beams of two wavelengths from one side of a measuring region of a solution into which an indicator is mixed, while pulsating the solution in the measuring region; receiving at least one of transmitted light beams and reflected light beams of the emitted light beams on the other side of the measuring region, while pulsating the solution in the measuring region; obtaining absorbances of the two wavelengths based on the received at least one of the transmitted light beams and the reflected light beams; obtaining an absorbance ratio from the obtained absorbances ; and calculating a pH value of the solution based on the obtained absorbance ratio and an absorbance ratio/pH value correspondence database which is previously stored.

A cell treatment solution and a method that is used for preparing a stained cell suspension that is provided to a measurement of nuclear DNA by flow cytometry. The cell treatment solution may include a surfactant, RNase, and a fluorescent dye. The surfactant may include, for example, a non-ionic surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant, an anionic surfactant, and/or a cationic surfactant. In one method of the invention, stained cell suspension that is provided to a measurement of nuclear DNA by flow cytometry is prepared. The method may include adding a tissue sample to a cell treatment solution including a surfactant, RNase, and fluorescent dye, disaggregating the tissue sample, and filtering the disaggregated tissue sample. Another method of the invention includes disaggregating a tissue sample, preparing cell suspension by filtering the disaggregated tissue sample, and adding a cell treatment solution including a surfactant, RNase, and fluorescent dye.

A biological signal measurement sensor is to be fixed to a living body with an adhesive. The biological signal measurement sensor includes: a surface, which is to be in contact with a part of the living body; and a first portion, which is opposite to the surface and to which the adhesive is to be attached. At least a part of the first portion has a first patterned indented shape.

Imidazole derivatives of the formula (1) or salts thereof, pharmaceuticals containing the derivatives or the salts, and intermediates for the synthesis of the derivatives or the salts (wherein R1 is lower alkyl; R2 is alkyl or aralkyl; and X1 is halogeno). These compounds exhibit G-CSF-like activities and can be substituted for G-CSF preparations.

A pressure sensor gathers discrete data representing the pulse amplitude of a pulse wave signal when a cuff pressure is increased and decreased. A RAM stores the discrete data of the pulse amplitude. A CPU processes the discrete data by using a spline function, to thereby generate the data representative of a smooth continuous line passing by points of the pulse amplitude of the discrete data. This process reduces a variation of the pulse amplitude of a pulse wave signal, to thereby minimize a variation of the blood pressure values. An inflection point of the smooth continuous line is used as a diastolic blood pressure value.
