摘要: Systems and methods for fractionating whole stillage from an ethanol production facility are provided. Whole stillage undergoes a separation of its liquid portion (thin stillage) from the solid portion (fiber cake). In some embodiments, the solids and liquids in whole stillage may be separated utilizing a screening centrifuge. The fiber cake may be dried to generate a high fiber animal feed. The thin stillage may be provided to a three-phase separator for separation into an oil emulsion, an aqueous clarified stillage, and a protein paste. The protein paste may be dried to generate a high protein animal feed with greater than about 45% protein content. The clarified thin stillage is condensed to yield a syrup with greater than around 60% solids. The oil emulsion is subjected to a pH adjustment to liberate the oil from the emulsion, which is then separated.

For example, the plurality of sensors (180) may measure dissolved gases and essential molecules of choice without the risk of contamination of the vessel. The sensors may be integrated in a body (150) of the sensor cap. During the measurement period, a small volume of cell culture media may be captured in a sampling chamber of the sensor cap when the cell culture vessel is tipped. An inductor coil (160) on the sensor cap allows for noninvasive wireless reading of the measurements.

The cell culturing device is connected to the circulation flow paths and includes a waste liquid flow path in order to discard the liquid flowing through the circulation flow paths, and a waste liquid accommodation unit in which the liquid guided from the waste liquid flow path is accommodated. A sampling unit, in which the culture medium that is guided from the circulation flow paths to the waste liquid flow path is collected, is connected to the waste liquid flow path.

摘要: A 4D-perfused tumoroid-on-a-chip platform used in personalized cancer treatment. The platform includes a plate with a plurality of bottomless wells that resides atop a microfluidic channel layer, which in turn resides atop a surface acoustic wave (SAW) based sensor layer that is capable of measuring potential pH values of fluids disposed within the platform. The microfluidic channel layer includes a plurality of bioreactors, with each bioreactor including an inlet well, a culture well, and an outlet well. The inlet well, culture well, and outlet well form a closed system via fluid conduits spanning from the inlet well to the culture well, as well as from the culture well to the outlet well. Due to the fluid flow from the plate to the chip, and from the inlet well to the outlet well on the chip through the culture well, target cell (tumoroid) growth is promoted within the culture well.

The media conditioning vessel includes a vessel having an interior cavity to hold a volume of liquid cell culture media; a media inlet to return cell culture media from a perfusion bioreactor to the vessel; and a media outlet to transfer cell culture media out of the vessel to the perfusion bioreactor. Sensors to measure or detect a characteristic of the cell culture media are provided in the form of inline sensors in at least one of the media inlet and the media outlet or patch sensors attached to a sidewall or bottom of the media conditioning vessel.
