摘要: A reflection screen includes a light-reflecting substrate laminated with a light-transmitting polymer layer having light absorptive crazes of regular directionality. The reflection screen is formed by coating or laminating the light-reflecting layer on the substrate, drawing over a blade in a direction perpendicular to the blade to form the crazes and inserting a light-absorbing material into the crazes. Images projected on the reflection screen have high contrast and can be observed as sharp images even in a lighted area such as in a room lighted by fluorescent lighting.

摘要: A vehicle occupant detection device for capturing as an image the behavior of a vehicle occupant, who is seated on a seat of a vehicle, by an image capture unit and detecting the position of a specific portion of the vehicle occupant. When the presence of the vehicle occupant is determined, a control unit controls the image capture unit so that image capture is performed in a high-speed mode in which image capture intervals are relatively small, and when it is determined that the occupant is not present, image capture is performed in a low-speed mode in which image capture intervals are relatively large.

摘要: This invention relates to a borane derivative represented by the formula (1) and an organic electroluminescent device: wherein R1 to R8 and Z2 are each independently a hydrogen atom, a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, a substituted amino group, a substituted boryl group, an alkoxy group or an aryloxy group; X, Y and Z1 are each independently a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, a substituted amino group, an alkoxy group or an aryloxy group; substituents of Z1 and Z2 may be united to form a condensed ring; and n is an integer of 1-3; with the provisos that when n is two or more, Z1s may be different from each other; and that cases where n is 1, X, Y and R2 are each methyl, and R8 is hydrogen or substituted boryl and those where n is 3 and Z1 is methyl are excluded. The borane derivatives of this invention are suitable for luminescent materials by virtue of their high luminous efficiencies in solid states, and useful for electrophotography and as photoelectronic functional materials including nonlinear optical materials and conductive materials. The use of this borane derivative brings about an organic EL device characterized by low electricity consumption and high efficiency.

摘要: A front scattering film capable of reducing backward scattering and providing a clear display is provided. The front scattering film comprises a light scattering layer composed of a transparent polymer binder and spherical microparticles dispersed in the binder and having a refractive index different from that of the binder, and substrates provided on the both sides of the light scattering layer, wherein at least one of the substrates is peelable from the light scattering layer. This front scattering film does not impair the function of the liquid crystal display unit by, for instance, affecting polarization, even it is used in a liquid crystal display unit in which a light scattering layer provided by the front scattering film is arranged between a retardation film or polarizer film and a liquid crystal layer.
