Abstract:
A filter device is provided having a biodegradable features. The filter device comprises an elongate stent portion and a conical filter portion attached thereto that is preferably balloon expandable. The conical filter portion includes a plurality of struts extending between a holding ring and the stent portion to define the conical shape of the filter portion. The struts can be biodegradable so that they degrade over time. The struts and/or holding ring can be configured so that at least one of the struts remains attached to the holding ring after a predetermined period of time. The struts are biased toward the wall of the body vessel in which the filter device is installed, so that after the predetermined period of time, the struts, and the strut attached to the holding ring, will expand toward the body vessel wall for bioabsorption.
Abstract:
A system for controlling gas leakage in a solids delivery system is provided. The system includes a bulk solids pump comprising an inlet for a particulate material and an outlet for discharge of said particulate material. The system also includes a buffer gas channel configured to impede backflow of process gas into the bulk solids pump, such as from a downstream system or process. The system further includes a pressure differential system configured to control a flow rate of the buffer gas and maintain a positive differential in pressure between the buffer gas and the process gas.
Abstract:
A syngas cleanup section includes a water-gas shift reactor, a first operation unit and a second operation unit. The first operation unit includes a high permeance membrane with H2/CO2 selectivity in flow communication with the water-gas shift reactor to provide a H2-rich permeate stream and an H2-poor retentate stream. The second operation unit recovers H2 and CO from the retentate stream to produce a single, CO2-rich product stream, the entire content of which has a minimum pressure of at least about 10.0 bar. In one embodiment, the second operation unit includes a membrane with Knudsen selectivity for permeating H2, CO and CO2. In this embodiment, the permeate streams are combined to produce a H2 and CO-rich fuel stream used by a combined cycle power generation unit to produce electricity, and the retentate stream is sent to a catalytic oxidation unit to produce the CO2-rich product stream. In another embodiment, the second operation unit is the catalytic oxidation unit.
Abstract:
A dental appliance is disclosed herein. The dental appliance, in various aspects, includes arms disposed about occlusal pad to secure the dental appliance in a removable fashion to the teeth of the user. The occlusal pad is formed from an occlusal pad material transformable between a pliable state and a non-pliable state, in various aspects. Associated methods of use are also disclosed herein.
Abstract:
A mouthguard apparatus is disclosed herein. In various aspects, the mouthguard apparatus includes an electronics package adapted to attach removably to a dental appliance. The dental appliance may be configured to be secured within the mouth of a user. At least portions of the electronics package adapted to extend external to a mouth of the user when the electronics package is attached to the dental appliance and the dental appliance is secured within the mouth of the user, in various aspects. Related methods are disclosed herein. This Abstract is presented to meet requirements of 37 C.F.R. §1.72(b) only. This Abstract is not intended to identify key elements of the apparatus and methods disclosed herein or to delineate the scope thereof.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting frames of fast trick mode video commences by detecting whether a frame of the fast trick video constitute an I-frame, and if so, then replacing the I frame with a dummy B-frame to maintain a target bandwidth. If the frame of video trick mode data constitutes at least one of a B or P frame, then that frame and the frame(s) predicted by the at least one B or P frame is replaced with a dummy B-frame.
Abstract:
A method for control comprises a set top box receiving coordinates from a touch sensing screen. The coordinates are interpreted for controlling the set top box, and in accordance with the interpreted coordinates an action is performed. A further method for control comprises a set top box receiving a signal representative of displacement. A control function is determined from the displacement representative signal and the control function is activated. In accordance with the control function a signal is formed for communication.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and data stores generate and manage temporarily assigned identities. A requestor issues a request for a service. The request includes an identity used for authenticating the requestor. The identity is used for generating an identity configuration and for generating a temporarily assigned identity that is updated to a protected identity directory. The request and the temporarily assigned identity are transmitted to the service. The service uses the temporarily assigned identity to access the protected identity directory for purposes of authenticating the request. The service uses the authenticated request to access attributes associated with the temporarily assigned identity.
Abstract:
A graft prostheses (11), materials and method for implanting, transplanting, replacing, or repairing a part of a patient. The graft prosthesis includes a purified, collagen-based matrix structure removed from a submucosa tissue source. The submucosa tissue source is purified by disinfection and removal steps to deactivate and remove contaminants, thereby making the purified structure biocompatible and suitable for grafting on and/or in a patient.
