    摘要: A system may receive a connection request, from a user device, that includes information identifying a particular application; identify that the particular application is associated with a group of classes of traffic; establish a group of bearer channels that are associated with the group of classes of traffic, the group of bearer channels being associated with a group of different levels of quality of service (“QoS”); process, via a first bearer channel and according to a first level of QoS, first traffic associated with the user device and the particular application; and process, via a second bearer channel of the group of bearer channels, according to a second level of QoS, second traffic associated with the user device and the particular application, the second bearer channel being different from the first bearer channel, and the second level of QoS being different from the first level of QoS.

    摘要: A base station for an Internet protocol (IP) wireless access network receives an initial attach request from a user device. Based on the initial attach request, a policy and charging rules function (PCRF) device provides to the base station, a subscriber bearer policy that includes a particular quality-of-service control indicator (QCI) value, an uplink data rate limit, and a downlink data rate limit. The base station calculates an uplink bandwidth allocation, based on the QCI value and the uplink data rate limit, that is proportionate to the total maximum data rate of all uplink traffic with the same QCI value. The base station also calculates a downlink bandwidth allocation, based on the QCI value and the downlink data rate limit, that is proportionate to the total maximum data rate of all downlink traffic with the same QCI value.

    摘要: The exemplary Multimedia Next Generation Network architecture disclosed herein covers the entire next generation system, e.g. for wireless communication services, including application, signaling and bearer functionalities. The architecture addresses unification of subscriber databases for both SIP services and non-SIP services in a Services Data Management Center (SDMC). A Security Center (SC) provides a central repository for all security related databases and functions. An Application Control Point (ACP) provides a single point of services control for all active SIP services for all subscribers via state information and services interaction management. Policy decisions are made at the packet layer, for example in an Advanced Bearer Control Point (ABCP) clustered with other functions to form a Bearer Services Control Point (BSCP). Policy enforcement is implemented at various nodes at the network or packet layer (L3) and above, e.g. including the BSCP and ACP.

    摘要: A video on demand (VoD) network architecture implements a gateway that provides both satellite-based communications and radio frequency-based communications. The gateway may receive a content request from a video client and determine whether the content request corresponds to a content delivery network (CDN). When the content request corresponds to the CDN, the gateway may install a VoD access point name (APN) route designated for VoD traffic between the video client and the CDN, and communicate the content request to the CDN via the VoD APN route. The VoD APN route may include a VoD APN of a wireless wide area network (WWAN) connected to the gateway via an air interface. When the content request does not correspond to the CDN, the gateway may communicate the content request via an Internet APN route.

The first network device sends an authentication result, based on the authentication of the user device and the first over-the-top application, to the second network device; and the second network device initiates, based on the authentication result, a process to apply a level of quality of service to information sent between the first over-the-top application and a provider associated with the first over-the-top application.
