The presented is a tool and method for language presentation, browsing, editing, translation and communication based on Semantic Web, to be utilized as interface for collaborating software products and services or human-machine interaction. The conceptual system is extended to further include such objects as language components, sentence patterns or syntax rules, to get solutions for semantic logic representation devices, language presentation devices, semantic-language converting devices, the registry and delegation system, in forming a language-component-based system for browsing, editing, conversion and communication. It is always allowed to bring need-based control over the conceptual system and the registry with their scope and scale being kept at appropriate level; with a widespread community participation, the establishment of semantic-language converting device ecosystem will be important guarantee of a flexible and diversified language expression system; therefore to constitute the core of those pragmatic standards or specifications for machine translation, human-machine interface and the web system.

A system is provided herein for inspecting a specimen. In one embodiment, the system may include a dual-channel microscope, two illuminators, each coupled for illuminating a different channel of the dual-channel microscope and two detectors, each coupled to a different channel of the dual-channel microscope for acquiring images of the specimen. Means are provided for separating the channels of the dual-channel microscope, so that the two detectors can acquire the images of the specimen at substantially the same time. In one embodiment, the channels of the dual-channel microscope may be spectrally separated by configuring the two illuminators, so that they produce light in two substantially non-overlapping spectral ranges. In another embodiment, the channels of the dual-channel microscope may be spatially separated by positioning the two detectors, so that the illumination light do not overlap and the fields of view of the two detectors do not overlap within a field of view of an objective lens included within the system.

The present invention addresses the need to improve the yields of viral vectors when grown in cell culture systems. In particular, it has been demonstrated that for adenovirus, the use of low-medium perfusion rates in an attached cell culture system provides for improved yields. In other embodiments, the inventors have shown that there is improved Ad-p53 production with cells grown in serum-free conditions, and in particular in serum-free suspension culture. Also important to the increase of yields is the use of detergent lysis. Combination of these aspects of the invention permits purification of virus by a single chromatography step that results in purified virus of the same quality as preparations from double CsCl banding using an ultracentrifuge.

The present invention addresses the need to improve the long-term storage stability (i.e. infectivity) of vector formulations. In particular, it has been demonstrated that for adenovirus, the use of bulking agents, cryoprotectants and lyoprotectants imparts desired properties that allow both lyophilized and liquid adenovirus formulations to be stored at 4° C. for up to 6 months and retain an infectivity between 60-100% of the starting infectivity.

A method for fast tracking and jitter improvement in an asynchronous sample rate conversion includes a digital phase locked loop (DPLL) for an asynchronous sample rate conversion (ASRC) device. A control apparatus in the DPLL includes a gain controller that sets and maintains gains (Ki, Kp) of two branches of the control apparatus at a fixed value, which enables searching of a desired value by the DPLL to determine a neighborhood of the desired value, and reduces the gains when the number of samples reaches a predetermined number. Processing units in the DPLL generate and process first and second input signals based on an input clock, an output clock, and a system clock. The second input signal is processed using two branches. Signals resulting from the two branches are re-aligned according to a changed status of the first processed input signal such that the signals resulting from the two branches are sampled in the same input clock interval.
