    Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to methods and compositions for in situ analysis or detection of analytes in a sample. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to methods for reducing autofluorescence in tissue samples, methods for analyzing biological samples, and compounds for use in the same.     Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to methods and compositions for detecting a plurality of molecules of one or more analytes in a sample. In some aspects, the present disclosure relates to methods for determining the locations and identities of analytes in a biological sample using detectably labeled probes comprising detectable labels with different signal emission lifetimes. In some aspects, the present disclosure relates to methods for identifying the detectable labels of the detectably labeled probes using time-gated detection. The methods herein have particular applicability in the detection of identifier sequences (e.g., analyte sequences or barcode sequences) in situ in a biological sample, including those using sequential cycles of detectably labeled probe hybridization to decode the identifier sequences.
