Abstract: Inter-device noise alerts may allow an electronic device, such as a smart phone or a smart watch, of one user to alert one or more electronic devices, such as smart phones, of one or more other users, that the noise level in a noise environment in which the electronic devices and the users are located may be unsafe for prolonged exposure. This can provide beneficial power savings by facilitating alerts from multiple devices without all of the multiple devices continuously monitoring the noise level. This also can be helpful for notifying the other users when, for example, the electronic devices of the other users are in a pocket, a bag, or another container and unable to detect the full noise level directly. The electronic devices of the other users can then provide alerts to the other users to don hearing protection or to leave the noise environment.

Abstract: This application relates to electronic devices configured to connect to a wireless local area network and communicate using a trigger-based access mechanism. An access point is configured to manage the wireless local area network. The access point includes a processing subsystem configured to select a channel associated with a communications medium for communicating with the set of electronic devices. The processing subsystem is also configured to monitor the channel to detect interference from radio frequency sources not connected to the wireless local area network, receive channel information for at least one additional channel associated with the communications medium from the electronic devices, and configure an interface circuit of the access point to communicate with the set of electronic devices on a new channel based, at least in part, on the channel information. Each electronic device can be configured to collect the channel information and transmit the channel information to the access point for analysis.

Abstract: The embodiments set forth techniques for enabling two devices to seamlessly construct/deconstruct a BTC connection on an as-needed basis. According to some embodiments, the technique involves exchanging, over a BTLE connection that exists between the two devices, information that enables the two devices to establish a BTC connection in a timely and power-efficient manner. To construct a BTC connection, a master device transmits, to a slave device using Link Layer (LL) control messages over an existing BTLE connection, clock information associated with the master device, a Logical Bluetooth Classic Transport Address (LT_ADDR) associated with the slave device, and other information. In turn, the BTC connection can be established between the master device and the slave device using the exchanged information. This technique can require less time and consume less power compared with conventional approaches that do not use existing communication channels to establish a BTC connection.

Abstract: The embodiments set forth herein disclose techniques for enabling a user device to seamlessly establish a secure, high-bandwidth wireless connection with a vehicle accessory system to enable the user device to wirelessly stream user interface (UI) information to the vehicle accessory system. To implement this technique, a lower-bandwidth wireless technology (e.g., Bluetooth) is used as an initial means for establishing a Wi-Fi pairing between the user device and the vehicle accessory system. Wi-Fi parameters associated with a Wi-Fi network provided by the vehicle accessory system can be communicated to the user device using the lower-bandwidth wireless technology. A secure Wi-Fi connection can then be established between the user device and the vehicle accessory system using the provided Wi-Fi parameters. The embodiments also disclose a technique for enabling the user device to automatically reconnect with the vehicle accessory system in a seamless manner (e.g., when returning to a vehicle).
