In one embodiment, a method of controlling collimation in a diffusing film, comprises: determining a desired degree of collimation of the diffusing film; and texturing a plastic layer to form a first textured surface, wherein 20 to 50 percent of slope angles on the first textured surface proximate a first axis have a value of zero to five degrees.
