Abstract: A kiosk comprises an AR display, an image capture device that generates image data of a face of a viewer of the AR display, and a processing device. The processing device receives the image data of the face; processes the image data to identify a position of a dental arch in the image data; determines a treatment outcome for the dental arch; generates a post-treatment image of the dental arch that shows the treatment outcome; generates updated image data comprising a superimposition of the post-treatment image of the dental arch over the received image data depicting the face of the viewer; and outputs the updated image data to the AR display, wherein the post-treatment image of the dental arch is superimposed over the dental arch in the received image data such that the post-treatment image is visible in the AR display rather than a true depiction of the dental arch.

Abstract: Apparatuses and computer-implemented methods for compression and extraction of three-dimensional (3D) volumetric imaging data, including in particular medical and dental imaging data, that may receive the 3D volumetric image data and preparing compressed 3D volumetric image data for compression by analyzing a relevant region of the 3D volumetric image data. The method may further include compressing, into compressed 3D volumetric image data, the pre-processed static 3D volumetric image data using a video compression scheme. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a processing device receives image data of a face from an image capture device associated with an augmented reality (AR) display. The processing device processes the image data to a) identify a mouth in the image data, b) identify a dental arch in the mouth, and c) determine a position of the dental arch relative to a position of the AR display. The processing device determines a treatment outcome for the dental arch, generates a visual overlay comprising an indication of the treatment outcome at the determined position of the dental arch, and outputs the visual overlay to the AR display, wherein the visual overlay is superimposed over a view of the dental arch on the AR display.

Abstract: A virtual filler is inserted in a virtual model of a dental site between a first tooth and a second tooth in the virtual model. One or more of the first tooth or the second tooth represent a natural tooth of a patient. Points of the first tooth, the second tooth and the virtual filler are transformed into a voxel volume. A geometry of an updated virtual filler is determined by transforming a surface of the voxel volume into a polygonal mesh.

A processing device transforms the plurality of points into a voxel volume comprising a plurality of voxels. A processing device performs a smoothing operation on the voxel volume. A processing device subsequent to performing the smoothing operation on the voxel volume, determines a geometry of an updated virtual filler by transforming a surface of the smoothed voxel volume into a polygonal mesh.

Abstract: A mobile device comprises a display, an image capture device that generates image data of a face of a viewer of the display, and a processing device. The processing device receives the image data and sends the image data to a computing device. The computing device processes the image data to identify a position of a dental arch in the image data; determines a treatment outcome for the dental arch; generates a post-treatment image of the dental arch that shows the treatment outcome; generates updated image data comprising a superimposition of the post-treatment image of the dental arch over the received image data; and sends the updated image data to the mobile device. The mobile device outputs the updated image data to the display, wherein the post-treatment image of the dental arch is superimposed over the dental arch in the received image data such that the post-treatment image is visible in the display rather than a true depiction of the dental arch.
