摘要: Scintillator compositions having a garnet crystal structure useful for the detection of high-energy radiation, such as X, &bgr;, and &ggr; radiation, contain (1) at least one of terbium and lutetium; (2) at least one rare earth metal; and (3) at least one of Al, Ga, and In. Terbium or lutetium may be partially substituted with Y, La, Gd, and Yb. In particular, the scintillator composition contains both terbium and lutetium. The scintillators are characterized by high light output, reduced afterglow, short decay time, and high X-ray stopping power.

摘要: A light source comprises an organic light-emitting device, which emits radiation having a first spectrum, and a phosphor layer, which absorbs a portion of the light emitted by the organic light-emitting layer and which emits light having a second spectrum. The organic light-emitting device comprises an organic light-emitting layer disposed between a pair of electrodes, and at least a charge-blocking layer disposed between the organic light-emitting layer and one of the electrodes. The phosphor layer typically absorbs less than all of the light emitted by the organic light-emitting layer and typically covers the entire organic light-emitting device. The light emitted by the organic light-emitting layer is mixed with the light emitted by the phosphor layer to produce light having a third spectrum.

摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure include organic light emitting diode (OLED) devices having hollow objects configured to scatter otherwise trapped light out of the device, thereby improving the performance of the device. The hollow objects are dispersed in one or more organic layers of the OLED device. The hollow objects may have a similar refractive index to that of air, such that visible light emitted by the emissive layer may contact the hollow objects in the OLED device and may be scattered out of the device. In some embodiments, the hollow objects may be spherical or tubular, and may be sized to be larger than the visible light wavelength spectrum.

摘要: The present invention provides a method for the preparation of organic light-emitting devices comprising a bilayer structure made by forming a first film layer comprising an electroactive material and an INP precursor material, and exposing the first film layer to a radiation source under an inert atmosphere to generate an interpenetrating network polymer composition comprising the electroactive material. At least one additional layer is disposed on the reacted first film layer to complete the bilayer structure. The bilayer structure is comprised within an organic light-emitting device comprising standard features such as electrodes and optionally one or more additional layers serving as a bipolar emission layer, a hole injection layer, an electron injection layer, an electron transport layer, a hole transport layer, exciton-hole transporting layer, exciton-electron transporting layer, a hole transporting emission layer, or an electron transporting emission layer.
