Abstract: A thermoplastic polyamide can be obtained through the reaction of at least the components (i), (ii), and (iii), where a catalyst having a Lewis base component is used in the reaction. Component (i) is a composition containing a polymeric compound having two carboxylic acid moieties; component (ii) is a dicarboxylic acid composition containing at least one dicarboxylic acid; and component (iii) is a diisocyanate composition containing at least one diisocyanate. A process can be used for producing the thermoplastic polyamide and a method for the use thereof. A tandem reactive extruder can be used for the reaction.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a pellet in a pellet mill, which method comprises the steps of
(A) pressing a mixture for compaction by a roller through a nozzle to obtain a strand, and
(B) comminuting the strand to obtain the pellet,
wherein the mixture for compaction comprises
(i) 87 to 97 wt. % of a polymer stabilizer, which is tris(2,4-ditert-butylphenyl) phosphite (CAS-No. 31570-04-4), and
(ii) 3 to 13 wt. % of a processing aid, which is a propylene-ethylene copolymer and which possesses a melting enthalpy below 100 J/g at 101.32 kPa.
The pellet is useful for a dust-free handling of its polymer stabilizer at a manufacturing of the stabilized polymer. Furthermore, a method for stabilizing a polymer, which is a polyolefin, a polystyrene or a mixture thereof, is disclosed, which comprises the dosing of the pellet to the polymer.-

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of a reinforced polyamide (rP) in an extruder. In this process, a first mixture (M1), a second mixture (M2) and a third mixture (M3) are added into the extruder, and subsequently at least one carbon material is added to obtain a carbon containing polymerizable mixture (cpM) in the extruder. This carbon containing polymerizable mixture (cpM) is polymerized and subsequently devolatilized to obtain the reinforced polyamide (rP). Furthermore, the present invention relates to the reinforced polyamide (rP) obtainable by the inventive process.

Abstract: Foamed pellets contain a block copolymer. The block copolymer is obtained or obtainable by a process involving the reaction of an aromatic polyester (PE-1) with an isocyanate composition (IC), containing at least one diisocyanate, and with a polyol composition (PC). The polyol composition (PC) contains at least one aliphatic polyol (P1) having a number-average molecular weight ≥500 g/mol. A process can be used for the production of such foamed pellets. The foamed pellets can be used for the production of a molded body.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing a diblock copolymer comprising the reaction of at least one aromatic polyester having a melting point in the range from 160° C. to 350° C. and at least one polymer diol having a melting point of less than 100° C. at a temperature of greater than 200° C. to obtain a mixture (G-a); and the reaction of the mixture (G-a) with at least one diisocyanate, wherein the diisocyanate is employed in a molar amount of at least 0.9 based on the alcohol groups of the polymer diols. The present invention further relates to diblock copolymers obtained or obtainable according to such a process and to the use of such diblock copolymers for producing extruded, injection molded and pressed articles and also foams, cable sheaths, hoses, profiles, drive belts, fibers, nonwovens, films, moldings, plugs, housings, damping elements for the electricals industry, automotive industry, mechanical engineering, 3-D printing, medicine and consumer goods.
