    摘要: A data transfer system may coordinate the transfer of user data and control data using a self-contained data channel without using a separate control channel in a time period between set-up and tear-down of the self-contained data channel. For example, a plurality of data transfer resources may be established in a self-contained data channel between user equipment and a network controller. User data is transferred between the user equipment and the network controller in at least one of the plurality of data transfer resources of the self-contained data channel. Additionally, control data is transferred between the user equipment and the network controller in at least one of the plurality of data transfer resources of the self-contained data channel.

    摘要: A system and method may use mm-wave superspots to download high volumes of data to a moving or stationary mobile device traveling along a travel route that the moving mobile device is traveling. A macrocell in communication with the mobile device may predict the route that the mobile device is traveling, such as via GPS location, moving speed and direction, map information, etc. Alternatively, the route being taken may be determined by wireless communication, such as between the mobile device and a macrocell and/or superspot. The macrocell and/or superspot may determine whether (1) there are any mm-wave superspots along the predicted or known route that the mobile device is taking; (2) there is any data that is requested or remaining to download to the moving mobile device; and/or (3) the received signal quality, channel conditions, and/or macrocell traffic to the mobile device are favorable for superspot downloading.

    摘要: The present invention allows content to be delivered to a mobile terminal over different types of networks in order to efficiently use network resources. Content can be delivered using a select delivery method over a cellular network, a local wireless network, or a broadcast network. Within any of the networks, the content may be unicast to individual mobile terminals using individual content flows, multicast to a group of mobile terminals, or broadcast to any or all of the mobile terminals. Content can be multicast or broadcast to mobile terminals via different ones of the disparate networks. During a content flow, the network through which the content flow is delivered may be changed to allow the mobile terminal to receive the content through a different network. Further, the delivery method used to deliver the content may dynamically change as the number of mobile terminals receiving or requesting the content changes.

    摘要: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for a handover procedure in heterogeneous networks are provided. In particular, an intermediate handover (IHO) is introduced. Certain aspects of the disclosure involve, a method, performed at a serving base station of a wireless communications network, where the serving base station serves a user equipment (UE). The method includes receiving a downlink (DL) signal quality indicator from the UE; and determining, from the signal quality indicator, whether a condition for an intermediate handover (IHO) state is satisfied. If the condition for the intermediate handover state is satisfied, the serving base station can initiate the intermediate handover state.
