摘要： The present invention relates to leave on, skin care compositions, comprising: (A) from about 0.001% to about 20% of an active ingredient, (B) from about 1% to about 20% of a stable, hydrophobic, structuring agent selected from the group consisting of saturated C.sub.16 to C.sub.30 fatty alcohols, saturated C.sub.16 to C.sub.30 fatty alcohols containing from about 1 to about 5 moles of ethylene oxide, saturated C.sub.16 to C.sub.30 diols, saturated C.sub.16 to C.sub.30 monoglycerol ethers, saturated C.sub.16 to C.sub.30 hydroxy fatty acids, and mixtures thereof, having a melting point of at least about 45.degree. C.; and (C) from about 0.05% to about 10% of a hydrophilic surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic surfactants, cationic surfactants, zwitterionic surfactants, and mixtures thereof, and (D) from about 25% to about 98.949% water. These compositions are useful for delivering a wide variety of active ingredients to the skin.

摘要： Personal care compositions are disclosed comprising an isosorbide diester having the formula: wherein R′ and R″ are independently selected from a straight or branched C1-30 chain, which may be saturated or unsaturated. The personal care compositions also comprise a solid cosmetic active soluble in the isosorbide diester and a dermatologically acceptable carrier. The personal care composition may be in the form of an emulsion. A personal care composition is also disclosed comprising an isosorbide diester having the formula: wherein R′ and R″ are independently selected from a straight or branched C1-30 chain which may be saturated or unsaturated and Z1-Z6 are independently selected from hydrogen, hydroxyl, amino, amido, R′, or R″. Methods of making the aforementioned personal care compositions are also disclosed.

摘要： The present invention relates to compositions suitable for providing protection against the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation. The compositions provide excellent efficiency, broad spectrum UV efficacy, and photostability. Methods of use for these compositions are also disclosed. The present compositions comprise: a) an effective amount of a UVA-absorbing dibenzoylmethane sunscreen active;b) an and effective amount of a naphthalene derivative having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is in the 1 or 2 position and is independently selected from the group consisting of CHO, COOH, COR' wherein R' is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.30 straight or branched alkyl or an aryl, and wherein said naphthalene derivative has a triplet energy state of from about 56 kcal/mol to about 59.5 kcal/mol; andc) a suitable carrier.

The compositions have a pH of about 4.5 and below.
