摘要: A medical device delivery apparatus has an inner tube with a medical device receiving region at the distal end, a balloon assembly movably disposed about the inner tube and a medical balloon displaceable from the medical device receiving region. A retractable outer sheath is diposed about the inner tube and is movable relative to the inner tube to expose the medical device receiving region. An inflation lumen capable of fluid communication with the medical balloon extends proximally from the balloon. Disposed about the distal portion of the inner tube is an expandable medical device that is distal to the medical balloon. The balloon may be moved within the medical device to expand the medical device.

摘要: A high performance guide wire with a pressure sensor for measuring blood pressure, may utilize a single electrical lead connected to the guide wire. An integrated circuit, powered by the single electrical connection on the guide wire, may interface with the pressure sensor, and may convert pressure information to an encoded signal. The encoded signal may be detectable in the electrical circuit, and can be used to display a pressure waveform as detected by the pressure sensor. For example, when utilized for percutaneous coronary interventions, such a guide wire can provide high quality blood pressure measurements (e.g., for fractional flow reserve), while also possessing excellent steerability and handling characteristics for navigating tortuous anatomy.

摘要: A method for substituting at least one high quality position measurement of an object taken before an interrupting event with a set of upgraded low quality position measurements of the object provided by the same source of measurements after the interrupting event. The method comprises the following steps: (A) obtaining at least one high quality position measurement of the object provided by a source of measurements before the interrupting event; (B) saving at least one high quality position measurement of the object; (C) if at least one position measurement of the object provided by source of measurements after the interrupting event is of substantially high quality, using at least one position measurement of substantially high quality of the object for navigation purposes of the object; and (D) if each position measurement of the object provided by the source of measurements after the interrupting event is of low quality, and if there is not at least one restoration event; then upgrading at least one position measurement of the object by using an upgrade algorithm.

摘要: Various configurations of systems that employ leadless electrodes to provide pacing therapy are provided. In one example, a system that provides multiple sites for pacing of myocardium of a heart includes wireless pacing electrodes that are implantable at sites proximate the myocardium using a percutaneous, transluminal, catheter delivery system. Each of the electrodes contains a source of electrical energy for pacing the myocardium and is adapted to receive electromagnetic energy from a source outside the myocardium. The system also includes a source adapted for placement outside the myocardium and that uses locally measured electrocardiograms to synchronize pacing of the heart by sending electromagnetic commands to the electrodes to pace the myocardium surrounding the electrodes. Also disclosed is various configurations of such systems, wireless electrode assemblies, and delivery catheters for delivering and implanting the electrode assemblies.
