    摘要: A system and method for packaging devices having one or more coils of delicate tubing utilizing a peel-pouch package with a backing surface and a transparent cover sealingly adhered to form an envelope wherein the device and the coils of tubing are packaged. The packaging system provides for a single releasable interconnecting coil restraint that effectively binds the coils of tubing together such that any one particular coil is restrained from moving. The restraint has an end tab facilitating the release of the restraint such that the packaged coils can be quickly and easily removed and placed into use. The restrained coils of tubing are placed within a lining sheath prior to being placed within the envelope through the envelope opening in order to further protect the packaged system by rendering the envelope puncture resistant. A heat stake is applied to the packaged envelope at an opposite end from the envelope opening to effectively reduce the volume within the envelope so as to limit the movement of the contents therein. With such a packaging system and method, the individual tubes of the coils do not bend or kink and the coils remains free from tangling and intertwining during the rough treatment normally incident to worldwide shipping and handling.

    摘要: A coil support arrangement for use in connection with a dynamoelectric machine equipped with a stator having top and bottom winding coil end portions arranged in phase groups and extending outwardly from the stator at each end thereof. The support arrangement consists of a support ring encircling the bottom winding coil end portions, blocking means providing lateral support for the coil end portions to restrain vibrational movement of the latter during machine operation and a series of bands for holding the coil end portions of the phase group, the related blocking means and the support ring together, with the blocking means disposed in axial alignment with the ring to thereby present a single blocked and banded, elongated phase group structure which extends circumferentially around the inside of the ring. The blocking means consists of a plurality of individual block elements which extend the full radial depth of the phase group structure to provide deep beam strength characteristics to the structure. The block elements are generally trapezoidal in shape to facilitate wedging of the same between adjacent coil end portions during assembly. A wedging mechanism is provided between adjacent phase group structures for applying circumferentially directed tightening forces to the overall arrangement.

    摘要: Three-dimensional laminates having improved ductility and resistance to cracking at low temperatures are produced by subjecting the formed laminates to high energy ionizing radiation to preferentially promote crosslinking in at least one layer of the laminate which layer per se has poor low temperature properties. In the preferred form a laminate useful in producing spray reducing rain flaps for vehicle tires is provided by irradiating a fusion bonded laminate comprising a three-dimensional grasslike layer of high melt index, low density polyethylene and a high density polyethylene substrate at an average dose of at least about 10 and preferably about 30 megarads. The resulting rain flap remains ductile at temperatures down to at least about minus 20.degree. F. (minus 29.degree. C.) and preferably minus 40.degree. F. (minus 40.degree. C.).
