    Abstract: The invention relates to multiphasic polymers comprising from 45% to 95% by weight of a first polymer P1 and from 5% to 55% by weight of a second polymer P2, said polymers P1 and P2 being of distinct compositions, said polymer P1 being obtained by polymerization from a mixture of monomers comprising at least one anionic monomer (a) having a polymerizable vinyl group, at least one nonionic hydrophobic monomer (b) having a polymerizable vinyl group, at least one cross-linking monomer (c) and at least one associative monomer (d) having a polymerizable vinyl group and a hydrophobic hydrocarbon chain and said polymer P2 being obtained by polymerization from a mixture of monomers comprising at least one anionic monomer (a′) having a polymerizable vinyl group, at least one nonionic hydrophobic monomer (b′) having a polymerizable vinyl group and at least one cross-linking monomer (c′). It also relates to a method for the preparation of these polymers, to aqueous compositions comprising them and to their use as thickening and suspending agents.

    Abstract: The invention relates to the field of preparing aqueous dispersions of organic, organometallic or inorganic particles. In particular, the invention relates to the preparation of aqueous suspensions comprising organic, organometallic or inorganic particles and at least one particular copolymer obtained by polymerization of at least one acid and at least one compound or at least one ester derived from a particular acid, in the presence of water, at least one initiator compound and at least one activator compound, followed by total or partial neutralization by means of at least one compound chosen from alkali metal hydroxides, alkaline earth metal hydroxides, alkaline earth metal dihydroxides and mixtures thereof. The invention relates to such a particular copolymer having a low polydispersity index and weight-average molecular weight, the preparation process thereof and the use thereof, especially for the preparation of an aqueous paint composition.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing a dispersion of a lipophilic compound in a continuous hydrophilic phase, the morphology of which is submicronic. During the preparation of this dispersion, there is applied, by means of a device which produces a shearing gradient less than 5000 s−1, a shear stress from 100 to 5000 Pa during the addition of the lipophilic compound in the continuous phase which comprises a rheology-modifying compound selected from anionic copolymers, preferably an anionic polymer, in particular an ASE polymer or a HASE polymer. The dispersed particles of the lipophilic compound are nanometric particles whose size is less than 1 μm. The dispersion, particularly in the form of an emulsion, can be used in numerous fields.
