Abstract: An endoscopic device is provided. The endoscopic device may comprise a distal end and a proximal end. The proximal end may be opposite the distal end. The endoscopic device may further comprise a handle at the proximal end and a tube extending from the handle towards the distal end of the endoscopic device. The endoscopic device may further comprise an accessory channel. The accessory channel may extend through the tube. The endoscopic device may further comprise a slide, the accessory channel connected to the slide, and a track disposed adjacent to the proximal end of the endoscopic device. The slide is movable within the track to cause movement of the accessory channel within the tube.

Abstract: A bipolar sphincterotome may include an elongate tubular member, a cutting wire, and a return path. The return path may include a conductive ink portion disposed on an outer surface at a distal portion of the tubular member. The return path may also include a return wire disposed within the tubular member that is electrically coupled to the conductive ink portion. In some example embodiments, the return wire may be disposed within a lumen configured to have two or more functions, one of which being to house the return wire. Additionally, in some example embodiments, the conductive ink portion may be circumferentially disposed on the outer surface to provide visual access to a wire guide lumen. Also, for some example embodiments, the bipolar sphincterotome may include two electrically isolated return paths.

Abstract: The present embodiments provide systems and medical formulations suitable for delivering therapeutic powders to a target site. In one embodiment, the system comprises a delivery device, a first powder being formed of particles of a first material, and a second powder being formed of particles of a second material, wherein the second material is different than the first material. At least some of the particles of the first powder and the second powder are bound together to form bonded particles. The bonded particles are simultaneously delivered to the target site by the delivery device. In one embodiment, a medical formulation may comprise carbomer present in a range between about 60-80% by weight of the formulation, bentonite present in a range of between about 5-15% by weight of the formulation, and calcium carbonate present in a range of between about 10-30% by weight of the formulation.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an apparatus and methods for securing a medical catheter. The apparatus includes a tube wall that defines a lumen extending longitudinally there through. The tube wall comprising: a plurality of flexible fingers extending along a portion of the tube wall, a longitudinal slot disposed between each pair of adjacent fingers, each of the fingers comprising an exterior surface and an interior surface. An outer protrusion extends outwardly from the exterior surface of each finger. An inner protrusion extends inwardly from the interior surface of each finger. The inner protrusions are configured to frictionally engage an outer surface of the medical catheter disposed within the lumen when the plurality of flexible fingers are moved inwardly in response to an external force applied to the outer protrusions.

Abstract: A prosthesis and a method for securing a prosthesis at a treatment site are provided. The prosthesis includes a material portion. The material portion includes a liquid-impermeable material layer, a porous material layer having a pore size adapted for promoting tissue ingrowth, and an adhesive portion provided on the porous material layer adapted to secure the material portion to a site for at least 24 hours following implantation of the prosthesis at the site. In some embodiments, the prosthesis further includes a body.

Abstract: A valve insertion device for traversing a wire guide through a valve within an intraluminal passage. A wire guide is positioned near the outflow of a valve within an intraluminal passage. Alongside the wire guide, a pressure sensor is positioned to detect the pressure of the fluid in the intraluminal passage. As the valve opens, the fluid pressure at the outflow of the valve increases. This information is sent from the pressure sensor to a control system. From this information, the control system can determine when the valve will open and can actuate an advancement system to move the wire guide to traverse the open valve. After traversing the valve, various catheters and sheaths may be advanced over the wire guide through the valve.
