Abstract: A variable drive system of a power system is disclosed. The variable drive system may include an engine gearset to transfer power from an engine output of an engine to a variable input driveshaft of the variable drive system. The variable drive system may include a generator gearset to transfer power, generated by the engine, to a generator driveshaft of a generator. The variable drive system may include a variable drive, coupled to the variable input driveshaft, to enable a gear ratio between engine output and the generator driveshaft to be adjustable, the variable input driveshaft being offset from at least one of the engine output or the generator driveshaft. The variable drive system may include a direct drive clutch to bypass variable power transfer through the variable drive and enable direct power transfer from the engine output to the generator driveshaft.

Abstract: A transmission for a machine is disclosed. The transmission may comprise a torque path providing a path for transmission of torque from an input shaft to an output shaft, and a single clutch element along the torque path. The transmission may further comprise a clutch actuator configured to actuate engagement of the clutch element, and a clutch pressure control (CPC) valve configured to permit a flow of hydraulic fluid to the clutch actuator through a control pressure line when in an open position to cause the clutch actuator to actuate engagement of the clutch element. The transmission may further comprise a failure mode response (FMR) valve in the control pressure line between the CPC valve and the clutch actuator. The FMR valve may have a failure position obstructing flow of the hydraulic fluid from the CPC valve to the clutch actuator when the CPC valve is in the open position.

Abstract: A transmission for a machine is disclosed. Abstract: A continuously variable transmission includes two planetary gear sets having two planetary outputs and a planetary output shaft with a first drive gear. A variator drives a ring gear of the second planetary gear set, and a transmission input shaft is driven by the engine, which also drives the variator and the planetary input. Forward and reverse output systems are connected to the planetary output shaft and a transmission output shaft. A first clutch connects the first planetary output to the first drive gear, and a second clutch connects the second planetary output to the first drive gear. A third clutch connects the second planetary output to a second drive gear of the planetary output shaft, with the second drive gear being connected to the forward output system.

Abstract: A transmission system for a machine is coupled to an engine of the machine that is adapted to generate power. The transmission system includes a hydraulic power path including a variator coupled to the engine. The transmission system also includes a mechanical power path. The mechanical power path includes a first gear arrangement including a plurality of gears. The mechanical power path also includes a second gear arrangement including a plurality of gears. The second gear arrangement is coupled with the first gear arrangement to receive the variable rotational power from the first gear arrangement. The mechanical power path further includes a first clutch assembly and a second clutch assembly. Further, the second gear arrangement directs the variable rotational power received from the first gear arrangement towards a final output member of the machine in a selected direction.
